Not too amazing in terms of symphonic metal, but it's above a lot of other recent releases of the genre and the vocals are quite good.

What happened to this band after The Human Contradiction? It seems to me that the quality of music went down by order of magnitude in the past ten years or so.

I'm not that familiar with this band and I think this was the first album I've listened entirely. The Quest And The Curse is pretty great song. Otherwise it's good but there's not that many memorable moments.

I`m a huge fan of post "We are the others" era, but as I expected after the most of the band quit, this is dull and uninspiring. Underland is the only song that has some promise for me. Sad times, as it used to be my favorite band. I followed since the first demo.

Definitely drags a bit in the middle, but the last few songs really helped save the album for me.

Pretty much what i expected, judging by the singles - which isn't a bad thing at all. reminds me a bit of a less catchy april rain at times.
there are less standout moments than previous albums but as a whole the consistency is much better than the last few. all in all enjoyable!

Delainers well like it, band has not changed, never been good album band, but singles. Charlotte Wessels could pick up Nightwish crew and sing, new singer to. To be good song writing should kill. Here it's OK, some parts are ok, but this will be live band, new singer is young n look good. Could be 40 min album would be better.

This wasn't good. Their previous effort got them as an excellent promise among tons of symphonic metal acts that offer nothing but the same boring music since Nightwish released Imaginaerum, which was the last most differentiated album of this subgenre for me.

Considering pretty much the entire band is new, this isn't too bad; it's not that great though, and quite up-and-down in terms of quality

Diana is a great vocalist there's no doubt about that, but the album itself doesn't do much for me, unfortunately I find the songwriting fairly generic and uninteresting tbh.

The instrumentals are kinda pointless to me as Diana's vocals are the best thing about the album

Previous album offered a bit of something new and I was hoping to hear more of that. Sadly this one returns to averageness.

Delain ruined. Music is good but very predictable and gets too boring. Don't even get me started on less than mediocre vocals lol He really shot himself in the foot with these drastic changes.

Couldn't finished it unfortunately. I really liked "The quest and the curse", but second single didn't really worked that well for me, and unfortunately the first half of the album couldn't make me finish it. Still rating it a 5, but feel free to tell me if I have to force myself through the second half to be allowed to rate it

Its more about the genre than the band which make people to dislike or rate less. The genre seems to be exhausted by ideas and whatever territory was there, has been visited by Night wish.
Album is not bad either but there's nothing original in it for us to praise. 'The quest and curse' and 'Moth into Flame' are good tracks.

Do agree 100%.... One have all the right to not to take part in it.

I've definitely heard the melody from Moth To a Flame in an EDM track somewhere but I cannot for the life of me remember where.

Decent album overall, nothing groundbreaking but has its moments.

I like their new vocalist, and I can't pinpoint exactly what it is... but I was left feeling a bit wanting on her vocals, like just a bit more power was needed I felt. Overall though I'm a simp for this band and I loved this album. Several tracks on here that I loved. Even the instrumentals for Moth to a Flame, Queen of Shadow and Invictus were damn good.

New singer is cool, songs is fine. Nothing groundbreaking but very enjoyable, nonetheless. Definitely will come back to this record!
