I figured this would be an interesting poll. Although sometimes subgenres tend to collide, causing people to simply refer to bands as "grind", this should still result in some interesting discussion. I personally have narrowed it down to goregrind and deathgrind, and I have to go with deathgrind simply because of Exhumed, who are so kickass I still can't believe it. Inhume is a really amazing deathgrind band as well...I love lots of goregrind though, bands like Regurgitate, Carnal Diafragma, Last Days of Humanity, General Surgery, Haemorrhage, and early Carcass, so its very hard for me.

What is your favorite subgenre of grindcore? Why?

I voted for goregrind. Bands like Stoma, Last Days of Humanity, GUT, and Screaming Afterbirth make some of the most brutal music out there, but it's still incredibly catchy and fun. Pitchshifters add for a more diverse vocal approach, plus bands that use pitchshifters tend to also use high and low screams, which makes things more dynamic.

yes. They're the only cybergrind band that I actually know, but they're certainly great.

Well, I checked them out. They sound like a hundred bands I have heard before. So I guess, in actually I have "heard Cybergrind" before, even though I've never actually heard of it. But thanks, man. They are decent and all. But just not my style. Ah, well... to each its own, I guess.

Goregrind for me, since I always find myself coming back to Carcass. I also adore 'Carcass clones', too, but nothing will match them, ever, when it comes to Grindcore, IMO.

It is not like I would notice the difference, but pornogrind sounds just awesome, goregrind is my favorite though.

Goregrind. Stuff like Foetopsy, LDOH, Cock and Ball Torture, Rompeprop, Ahumado Granujo, XXX Maniak, JIG-AI and Destructive Explosion Of Anal Garland, really fun music.

I know their singer. He used to work at Deathgasm Records inside Swayze's venus in Marietta. I used to go there for shows all the time. He sold me their "I am a human toilet" shirt for like... half off. Haha. He was a cool guy.

Kinda hard for me to choose. I like pretty much all grind aside from old school grind. I also like scenestergrind because I suck. Anyone know of any decent blackened grind bands such as Eyeless (it)?

old school grind, but there too many bands with this rotten sound and I don't like it.

This poll could be more complex but that is not such a big problem...I probably would choose without any issue the old school stuff...It is after all the cradle of all grind, but not because of that...i like it raw, fast, aggressive and short...my favorites are Napalm Death, Terrorizer ( not entirely grindcore, but with death influences ), Sore Throat and also like bands such Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Magrudergrind, Spazz, Charles Bronson...
A few of those bands have an old school approach that gives them a more interesting feeling to the whole intensive sound. I also like Converge, Brutal Truth, Gigantic Brain and more others...

If you don't like something, you are not necessarily forced to say it...you can keep it to yourself, but as long as you come with a good argument, yes, it keeps the poll interesting and you may say it, but by only saying that its boring you contribute with nothing intelligent...

For the moment, I will refrain from voting. I love oldschool grind, Namely ND's first two albums and early Carcass, Just because the overall sound is just so.....great. Also, early ND's lyrics are just fucking amazing.
But then again, I love Cybergrind because of the samples and the encorperation of electroninc noises into extreme metal. If we wanna go with Goregrind, well, I can't claim to be the most knowledgeable, but I do know that Carcass is also considered to be one of, if the not the first Goregrind bands as well, and I love carcass....but it's like, old school? Goregrind? Eh, I'd prolly say both.

porn Grind as the name tells.. has explicit porn lyrics. And samples from porn movies and such.... The sound is hard to explain so I suggest you to find out bands that play that style. But if you say that grindcore died 1988 then I can't help you... since I would ask why you are asking about genres that exist NOW and no in 1988... O well

On the other hand... It's easy to explain the sound of a Cybergrind band. It has a pretty industrial influence. Sick feeling tbh.

Well.. it will be good if you check out more stuff.

Just because you don't know any current grind bands doesn't mean that it's dead.

I listen to elite black metal war, not these faggy new grind trends. i have never listened to new grind bands. just listened to the lastest ND's and Carcass's materials and they sounded... SHITTY.
btw, it would be appreciated if you introduce me new bands that play in the old style, and all of the bands that you think that they STILL ARE GREAT.
