I'm ashamed to say that after all these years, disappointments, shady tactics, and all the overall bullshit.... i'm still reasonably hyped. "The Way of the Fire" is such an incredible track that for that alone I'm looking forward to the album.

Pre-order does not guarantee delivery. Also, unless they were quietly dropped by Nuclear Blast, the biggest label in Metal does not use Indiegogo as a platform. If they did not agree agree on a non-exclusive distribution (which I highly doubt they have), this could be grounds for a lawsuit. So the year is far from over my friend. I'll be excited when they release a full single, for something that was supposed to come out in 2006.

I think NB will sell their physical products (CD, Vinyl) while he ll do this "preorder" thing with digital delivery. If i was NB i would try to recover as much money as I could, and then ditch them for good.

Also, from forums and groups my understanding is that many people will just torrent this, just out pf principal. Do not expect the crazy numbers we saw in the first crowdfunding. People are tired by this garbage called Jari.

Good music and complex music are two different things. Music can be dead simple and super good at the same time.

Also being able to do great arrangements on a good riff is usually better than forcing 100 riffs into one song for the sake of it. Using skills to serve the music rather using music to show your skills.

And I agree with you. The way of the fire, is just not that good of a song. The melody is nothing special, actually reminds me of a few melodies in the Iron album of Ensiferum.

It will be much better than Time I. Trust me. Only with the little we have heard can we expect an exceptional album, plus there is still Silver Leaves missing, Wintersun's best song according to Jari

Like I said before, I'll believe it's finished when it's actually in stores.

I actually liked this cover more than Time I

For a heavy digitialized/sterile image it is actually decent.

The problem with the cover is the chosen color scheme. All elements almost merge together and turn into one dark spot. The idea is great, but the implementation is not the best.

Certainly. This was originally going to be one album, so the music will 100% continue and complement TIME. We will finally get the masterpiece in its full form.

Yeah the artwork is OK - bit too dark for my liking for Wintersun but could be worse; that fan art^ is a bit overbright, something in between would probably be ideal. Nothing great, but not painful to look at, and better than the old leaked artwork from yonks ago

Still a bit hard to take seriously if pre-orders are going on Indiegogo (from my understanding, that's a crowdfunding website - if the album is fully produced and they're connected with a major label in Nuclear Blast that will surely handle distribution, there's no need for crowdfunding, particularly with all the past crowdfunding they've done), but I'll make sure to give it a listen if it does get released

This is not crowdfunding in the traditional sense.
Indiegogo was chosen only because the commission percentage significantly lower than if Jari sold his album through bandcamp or any other service.

I think he'll just collect his share of the album's profits through Indiegogo, like last time.
Perhaps they and the label found such a compromise. That Jari will receive money from digital pre-orders, and the label from physical copies.

Don't really care about the cover to be honest, It could be Jari's dirty underwear or a blank white page. It's been many years of waiting, I really hope it was worth the wait, although I do have a bad feeling about this one.

I used to be crazy about their music in general up to a few years back, but their last years of (imo) shameful crowdfunding upon crowdfunding with zero results made me kinda lose all hope. It's like Only Fans, but you don't get to see the titties in the end.

If I recall, Nuclear Blast and Jari came to some agreement about crowd funding and digital sales. That's why they were able to sell the Forest Seasons digital package separately from the physical album.

There is probably some agreement still in place.

However, Nuclear Blast hasn't really posted about Time II, so with the digital preorder going live in a few weeks, it will be interesting if info comes out about physical media. Vinyl pressers need several months up to year, in the case of supply shortages, for lead times to produce product, so hopefully all of that is on track.

Nuclear Blast is a different company than it was a decade ago. It was sold in recent years and a lot of the old guard is gone, and some are with/have started other labels (Reaper Entertainment, Atomic Fire Records, etc.). Not sure if Jari still enjoys the same relationship with the label he once had or not.

The album will be released in August at best, but perhaps this will happen in the Autumn. Enough time to release physical copies.
