03.08.2010 - 14:46 Written by corrupt on 17.06.2010 at 15:32 I find him very swollen-headed, indeed. He acts as a Mr Know-it-all who's always right and others wrong. And as if everything that poops out of his ass is pure gold. He's among the musicians from the metal scene I despise the most, along with Joey DeMaio. About Italian bands: I don't think any of the bands I'm listening to currently comes from Italy. I also wish to add that I find Italian Flowercheesemetal especially atrocious and generic (more awful than Euroflowermetal from other countries).

Has anyone heard of "Grievers" ? IMO They are a good Italian Melodic Death Metal band. Their Debut album "Reflecting Evil" is released on June 04, 2010 . I didn't love Italian Metal Music but this band changed my idea about that.

Fleshgod Apocalypse is the only Italian band I listen to. Totally brutal yet just enough melody to maintain my interest. Really good band, check them out.

Nice to see Labyrinth mentioned Not a personal favourite, but they do what they do well and perhaps deserve more attention than they get. OK! I haven't seen nearly enough THY MAJESTIE Talk about epic symphonic power metal and you must mention them. A great string of classics so far, but they really outdid themselves with Dawn, and props to the new singer for stepping in and making it great. Also, Kingcrow is new on my radar. They released one of my top prog albums of 2001 - every melodic metal fan should give them a try at least. Aaaaaand gotta love Nanowar. There, I said it. Deal.

I'm glad to see a few people listed Fleshgod Apocalypse in here. They're a fantastic death metal band and they have a really unique sound to them, which I think is uncommon in the genre.

Don't see it as an anti-Italian statement. I have nothing against Italy. In fact, it's one of those countries I'd like to visit the most one day. Tons of wonders in this country and a huge history. On many aspects, I would not compare Canada to Italy as I think Italy beats my own country hands down. But I think it's a horrible country when it comes to their input to metal.

23.01.2011 - 19:47 Written by vezzy on 23.01.2011 at 19:37 I have no idea. I think Canada is a good country to live in but there are lots of other countries surely as good as Canada. Perhaps better. I feel neither pride nor shame as far as Canada is concerned.

There are/have been some great Italian bands. My favourites would include Opera IX, Cadaveria, and also Thunderstorm, a traditional Doom Metal band. Thunderstorm seems quite influenced by Solitude Aeturnus with their epic, melodic style. Necromass also stand out as a (sort of) Black Metal band but with a melodic, sometimes slightly unusual and progressive edge. My favourite Italian band though is probably The Foreshadowing.. They've been around for several years, but I got to know their stuff after reading a Metal Storm review last year, and their style of brooding Gothic Metal is excellent IMO. Their stuff manages to be memorable and catchy as well as kind of epic and sometimes quite sullen and doomy. The awesome melodic, rich tones of the vocalist really add another layer of excellence and class to the overall experience as well IMO.
