Which metal genre you despise the most

So, the reason I joined this forum is because the people seem to be tolerant towards more 'alternative' types and fusions of metal genre, even though the extreme metal is probably most popular kind on this forum. Even so, some of the genres (like the top three) usually take a lot of crap/dislike from one reason or another, it doesn't really matter. So, as tolerant and open minded as we all are, we all have some artists/genres we generally don't like, or truly hate.

So, what's your black sheep of the metal family? (and please no crap about 'not metal'). I can respect and tolerate almost anything, but I guess I dislike Black metal the most (and Pornogrind, if you can call it a genre), but there's really no purpose putting poll for it in this forum. Why do I dislike it? I hardly even gave it a try, but it sounds so soulless and empty to me. That's just my subjective opinion of course.

And yours?

Nu metal is some new cheap impure metal. Iron, gold, silver, copper, and aluminum, and alloys such as brass and steel - that's all the metal I know.

Nu metal is not new at all. It was big in the 90s, that's almost 30 years old by now and it has been refined. While I agree that most nu-metal sucks, as do the -core genres, there are some highlights like Rage Against the Machine, and the nu-metal elements that Pain of Salvation has always incorporated in their albums.

With very few exceptions, I somehow agree with most of your dislikes even though it makes both of us sound like snobby purists. I typically stick with black, death, doom, grind, post, sludge, and stoner with some thrash and deathcore thrown in. I've tried for years to get into other metal genres without success, and the entirety of the drone/noise/industrial sector has pretty much done nothing to capture my interest.

Diference between you and me 90% of roadburnes likes you here on MS, but 90% hates me, its a difference, you can insult suxer bands, people are silent, if I do, they scream.
I like doom , most of subgenres, black metal (unless its raw whit drum programming) , speed, heavy, thrash, old school dead from old days . I start listen power now, I regret I ignore it when I was wrong influenced in MS , now I like it.
Those new genres and weird genres, I think you need get into those in teenage days or early 20's. I doubt man in 35 or how the frog old I am,
Stoner is OK.
I am in MS , MA and check new bands in my genres, all new bands what I think can be good I try to listen.
Some weird genre, sorry men sjould have long bair or short hair but some metal image, if they have suits or hawai hip hop panths I cant get into it. I am to old.

In terms of being overly cheesy, symphonic power metal can be increadibly guilty (glares at Nightwish's Pharoh Sails to Orion) or can sound fun and uplifting (smiles at Nightwish's Greatest Show on Earth and at Nightwish's Elan)

Hmm... it depends. Nu metal or alternative would be way too easy choice, but there are some really good albums here and there, so it's not all bad. Metalcore or Deathcore can't despise just because, well, I have never really bothered to listen to them. People seem to hate them anyhow, so maybe I haven't missed anything too fancy or interesting.

One thing I know I don't like is anything mixing distorted guitar and symphonic sensibilities. Maybe I'm just an bitter and humorless lump of anti-humanity or metal elitist or whatever, but I just don't think these two mix well at all. Didn't have any trouble with this stuff back in the late 90's and early 2000's when they used some crappy digitized samples and synths.

Very intricate sound, little melody, oscillating rhythm, in reality I find that a sound that it aint fluid, difficult to like

Same, for the most part. The lack of structure is difficult to follow and if I have to immerse myself in 30-50 minutes of purposely disjointed rhythms then I'd honestly rather do just about anything else. There are some albums I really like that are considered avant-garde but I don't think I'll ever be able to say I'm into avant-garde music.

I tend to cherry pick the stuff I like from nearly all genres of metal but generally speaking nearly all power metal and anything which veers towards chest thumping macho cheese.

I don't care for much metalcore either but I don't despise it, I just don't choose to listen to much of it.

Symphonic Power Metal. It's too positive sounding for my taste. Also so much music and hymns about the glory of battles and warriors. It's tiresome.

I love Nu Metal. Nu Metal in reality was the bridge for me to shift from rock to metal. It's some of the very first proto metals I have heard before I started to dwell into more serious category of metal. Most of the Nu Metal songs I heard during that time is etched in my memory. Can't really hate this genre.

I think it might actually be Prog, there are bands in the genre I like but I've come to realise that in each case that's in spite of their Prog elements rather than because of them.

Though they don't appeal to me I've no reason to hate the Core genres or Hair Metal since I don't really deal with them on any kind of a regular basis and, truth be told, I unashamedly enjoy a lot of Nu Metal since it's what I grew up with.
