A lot of women want to change everything, all the time. And what's the most subject to change is yourself. When you have an ideal of what is beautiful, you go to great lengths to achieve it, and this is true for a lot of girls.

Hm, but you see, men were previously attracted to curves because they pointed out that a woman should bear children easier, and that she was "wealthy" to have enough food to eat. Now, the most desirable women subconsciously are fit/toned or thin women because that implies they have enough wealth to maintain their bodies in good health. Generalizations aside, I personally still prefer curvy women. Of the three serious relationships I've been in, all three have been with curvy girls.

That's not to say I'm not attracted to skinny girls - in reality I go for personality over attraction - but my visual preference is that of a "bodacious" woman.

Well it's a generalization, but it's embedded in a lot of people's minds, I find the theory plausible and interesting.
As for your love for curvy girls, I guess it's what a lot of other guys will tell.I've only recently discovered (as in, the recent three years or so) that, while the ideal type is that of a toned but somewhat still curvy girl, men don't really care or notice if their girls aren't all that perfect. I always thought that no one would ever like my curvy self, but when I looked around me and saw girls of my body shape, and even a lot bigger, are getting a lot of male attention, I revisited my theory.

Though, if I'm allowed to make another slight generalization, men are more likely to pick a curvy or chubby girl with a beautiful face and a good sense of humor over a girl with uneven facial features but an extremely good body, and that girls would go for the ugly but toned type rather than the charming dude with a beer belly.

That's not fair though, you're giving one side the advantage of having a good sense of humor. Anyone looking for something more than physical attraction and potentially hot sex with someone they think is hot, a sense of humor is a must. On the flip side, if you say "men are more likely to pick a curvy or chubby girl with a beautiful face over a girl with uneven facial features but an extremely good body and a good sense of humor" then you're giving the advantage to the "good body girl".

If you said "men are more likely to pick a curvy or chubby girl with a beautiful face over a girl with uneven facial features but an extremely good body" then at least the comparison is fair since both sides have a pro/con (so to speak).

Either way, I'd pick an "uglier" girl (face and/or body) with a good sense of humor over a hot chick with absolutely no sense of humor, because I look for a relationship. Airheads are good for one-night stands, but if you want a girl you can converse with after having sex, she needs to be able to hold a conversation. A sense of humor is almost imperative in that regard.

That good sense of humor should have went on both sides and absolutely, that is the only reasonable thing to do. Airheaded people (and by that I do not mean simply unintelligent, if you catch my drift) can't be really hot in my eyes anyway, their hotness shrinks once I get to know them better. And an average looking girl can do wonders for herself by learning to wear body-flattering outfits, SMILING, maybe light makeup if she finds it fun, skin and haircare... and that nice soul and positive attitude that shines through. All work and no ice cream and frowning over people who won the genetic lottery won't make girls more appealing, but a lot of them don't know that.

Same goes to guys. Is it nice to have a fit, reasonably attractive boyfriend? Sure, why not. Will we fuss over it if you don't exercise or don't have the features of Johnny Depp? We frankly don't give a fuck, as long as you're taking care of yourself as a human and person, and taking care of us too.

Do you have a source to support that claim? A lot of the live shows I watch on YouTube show some pretty healthy-looking females in the audience... and not just because they only focus on one or two girls that happen to be hot.

no ive just noticed that at the bars and the festivals/events. Some of them are really hot but as it happens with the men also, metalheads are not the healthiest people on earth!

I know. Usually, people never downright delete major websites and eliminate all archives of them. They often store them in little-known archive domains. The RIAA/MPAA and other anti-piracy wingnuts often do this when taking down BitTorrent trackers/sites.

There's even a Firefox add-on called MAFIAA that finds these archives.

of course we are not a completely separate entity, we just got rid of media control in one sector (music) and might distance us from what we get fed in others, but unfortunately we aren"t as free as we should be
for example i guess the looking down on "sellouts" and splitting into hundreds of subgenres is what media influentials want us to be like so we are harmless

I've said it a few times in this thread now, but it is true. Shallowness and superficiality is just as prevelant amongst metalheads as it is amongst most other groups of people. It's a myth (mostly perpetuated by those in the metal scene themselves) that metal is somehow a haven for tolerance and open minded attitudes. Probably because many metalheads see themselves as "special" and/or superior to others in "mainstream" society, however, most of them are no better than those they criticise.

However, it is (however hard it may be for some to accept) a fact that male metalheads are NO MORE likely to either date a fat girl, or to find them attractive than males who aren't metalheads. I've seen many metalheads make scathing remarks about people's weight and appearance, and it's worse when it's a woman's physique that is being analysed.
