Bart from Quo Vadis came up to me before a show a couple of years ago and asked me if he could share the joint I was smoking with some friends with him...there are a lot of non metal musicians I have met...like Len, Sector Seven and The Barstool Profits because they're all from around here...

Let me think....First to come to my mind at the moment would be Lotta Höglin from Beseech for me and my classmate arranged a little assault on her after the gig in order to get an autograph and we succeeded.... Of course I have bumped into members of our homemade Metsatöll....at the birthday of the band or yeah....even in a shop or street....but I have not talked to them.... A very good acquaintance of mine would be a local award winning jazz singer(does definitely not qualify as a metal artist)....I went to a music class with her younger sister and we also were on a trip years ago....

I've met lots of people from relatively unknown bands. The only famous metal musician I ever talked to was Muhammed Suicemez from Necrophagist. I told him that he should eat deep dish pizza. I shook hands with him and avoided touching anything with my right hand for about a week or so.

I didn't meet very much musicians, but here I go anyway: - Epica (full band) twice: Once in Vosselaar and once in Kortrijk, both in Belgium. Then I met Mark in Amsterdam after the Paradiso gig - Liv Kristine from Leaves' Eyes at Metal Female Voices Fest last year - Roy Khan from Kamelot after the Epica gig in Paradiso (Amsterdam) - Amanda Summerville: One of the choir singers from Epica, also in Amsterdam - The Old Dead Tree: full band. They signed a poster for me. I have put this poster in 100? frame and hung it central in my living room. On my wish list is certainly In Flames. Man, I'd like to party with these guys after a gig. It must be sick!

The only band I have met to date is Extol. (They also happened to be the only concert I've been to so far, unfortunately.) The story is that I was with a group of friends (they are more into Extol than I am; I just went because it was a concert and I was getting in free) at a rock festival and Extol was part of the gig that day. They had a booth set up in the organization fair area and of course we dropped by to say hi and check them out. They were selling shirts and albums, and the friend who paid my ticket got a CD signed by them. They were really friendly to talk to and I enjoyed conversing with them and asking them all sorts of questions; they didn't seem to mind and journalism is my major after all so why not get some practice in? Hehe.

I think it would be more interesting if more people would say how they met the person, what they did with them, what their personality was like, etc.

09.09.2006 - 23:22 Written by Dangerboner on 08.09.2006 at 03:06 Probably because what constitutes as "meeting" is going to a sign-in or waiting until the show is over and saying hi and bye whilst getting stuffed signed. I don't ever bother with sign in's myself, to many fucktards and I can't imagine the bands really want to hear all the typical b.s. that people tell them. All I can say is that I have hung out with "Bam Bam" from Skid Row, my wifes mother is friends with him, funny guy.
