International bands.... Hypocrisy March 16 2004, Bogota,Colombia... nice show, I expected more.

PD: If you look in the members section at Hypocrisy's website (www.hypocrisy.tv), you can see this is Horgh's best gig with this band, I feel really proud about it... we hope now to see Immortal arround here with Horgh offcourse, they have a large crowd here.

If you dont count local serbian Rock/metal bands, it was in 2002, Paul DiAnno (yeah that old singer of Iron Maiden who got himself kicked out ). The next thing was in Hungary, Summer Rock Fest with Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Nightwish and Children of Bodom

for metal, the first thing I attended was Novarock in 2006 which is a festival. highlights there were Metallica, Alice In Chains, Mortörhead, Apocalyptica and many more. first metal concert would be Korpiklaani in a semi-private party with two local supports...korpiklaani just rocked I will go to Novarock this year as well, with an even better lineup concerning metal bands (slayer, in flames, stone sour, in extremo, children of bodom, chimaira,...) but I'm quite off-topic here..

Children of Bodom + Ektomorf + One Man Army And The Undead Quartet, december 28th 2005.
I remember it like it was yesterday. Alexi Laiho in a christmas hat, my back that still hurt two weeks afterward from a bad hit in my first ever moshpit, and how bad my pants smelled after the three glasses of beer that were "accidentily" poured over them.

Good times.

I have just recently attended my very first concert ever. They were all obscure local bands, but I'll tell you the story any way.

It was about three hours after I had gotten my haircut. It was shorter, but it was still long enough for me to headbang properly. When I was ready to go at 5:50, my dad was asleep, so I walked to the local recreation center where the concert was held. It was just a few thousand feet from my house, so it wasn't that long of a walk. When I got there, I remembered that admission price was six dollars, and I didn't have any money, so I ran back to my house and gathered up some change and hurried back. Luckily, the stage was not completely set up yet, so I still had time.

There were 4 bands playing: 3 from my home town (New Flesh, Smoke Whiskey, Sudden Death Syndrome) and 1 from Wichita (Twisted Mentality). The first band that played was New Flesh, which played plain and simple heavy metal that added a special twist with black metal howling. They just played cover songs, but they were still good. They were also very funny. When a crowd member told them to play something from My Chemical Romance, they responded "No, that's too heavy".

The next band that played was Twisted Mentality from Wichita. They played Slayer-influenced thrash metal. They played some cover songs and even some of their own songs. During their cover of "Ace of Spades", a mosh pit started and I was a part of it. It was invigorating, but I was always in fear that I might get hit in the face. Thankfully, the moshers were modest enough to pick me back up on my feet whenever I fell on the floor.

The third band was Smoke Whiskey, whose lead singer had a striking similarity to Scott Ian of Anthrax. They played Pantera-style thrash metal, and also added some brutal growling into the mix. They mostly played original songs and they also did a cover of Superjoint Ritual, which I must say was better than the original version. In the middle of their performance, a mosh pit started up, but I was pushed out of it, so I was left to get to the front of the crowd and just headbang.

The last performance was from Sudden Death Syndrome, which I felt was the best performance. They played intense thrash/death metal, and I enjoyed it immensely. By the time the concert was over, it was midnight, but luckily, a friend of my mother attended the concert and gave me a ride home.

Well, that was my first concert experience as of 2 hours ago, and I hope that you didn't fall asleep while reading my story.

Nightwish concert - 29th May 2004. I was a huge Nightwish fan back then and their concert was something amazing. Also I was just released from the army a day before, so the concert was a great way to relax and enjoy an evening with my favorite band.
