In my opinion it should be legal, but the people who are involved with it should do it from their free will, they shouldn't be forced.

I think that goes without saying.

If legalized, the industry can then be regulated, protecting those who want to partake while checking for STDs etc.

Hahaha yeah man, I have that George Carlin album on cd, and its the truth, howabout form now on we dont refer to it as selling, why not put it as 'giving sex away in exchange for currency?'

Prostitution should be legal and porn more accepted. I agree with Achor, I've watched porn but still I've never seen women as objects. People often use the argument that these girls are forced into this business. Sure, we all know that some literally get forced to be prostitutes but that is another question, that is forcing someone to take a job they do not want. But how the hell can you be forced to show yourself in magazines like Playboy? No, you always have a choice.

That is problem with tradition, but most serious for the Orient where Im living more than in Western world. I knew that Western world legalise prostitution and pornography. Only in Islamic world and Orient are different then. I have no opinion about that, agrrrhh, but I kinda think if human despise or prevent Prostitution and Pornography, thats a little hyipocritical, why? because never could be 100% of people avoid Prostitution and Pornography, some they despise it but still sneakily touch it, many same cases in my place.

Having experienced it first hand I know that sex is a wonderful thing. Something sacred between two people that love eachother. I think it should definitely stay that way and not be marketed as a product. Also, to rebut an argument I've heard by many feminists, anarchists, and anarchofeminists: While pornography may be disrespectful to women, remember this. It's the woman's responsibility to make the right choice and not star in a porno flick so she can earn money. If a woman can't make that choice, what respect does she deserve from men? Well, if you call wanking to a naked image respectful........... that's all they get, it's all they deserve.

No one must not be FORCED to do so. If it is their will, let them do it.I don't think watching pornography is harmful ( we were taught that pornography is a threat from internet).
In south asia, girls and women trafficking is a BIG problem, and once the girls are 'sold', they get the worst treatment (according to those who have escaped). I live in Amsterdam and in Amsterdam as you (guys)probely know prostitution is legal and yes some times the prostitutes are forced into prostitution by wat you call a lover boy(if u dont know what that is ask)then it is not aceptible but if the prostituts do it because theyr broke i dont have a problem with it.:)

I'm french and in France it's legal...and there's not sooo many problems because of prostitution in this country...but when we concentrate on a country like Poland or all those east countries there's a problem....Little girls , at the age of 10, forced to do some prostitution...That can't be. @diamante: forcing someone to do something against his/her will is always wrong. but as many of us has already said: if the girl chooses to be a prostitute, it should be ok. if prostitution were to be legalized in sweden, i think you should have reached a required age to become a prostitute. cos small children might get fooled by pimps and such.

It is really nice to read all of these posts and pretty much see that everyone is in agreement that prostitution should be legalized. When you criminalize something that is not a real crime you only create criminals and violence. That is the only thing accomplished when prostitution is made illegal.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, the fewer laws there are, the better (and probably safer in many cases) we'll all be. It offends me that personal opinions on morality are put into law in many countries. We don't need the government acting as a fucking baby sitter.

If sex is such a wonderful thing, then shouldnt everyone have access to it? even ugly people/people that no one would want to have sex with?

I know a girl from our school, who presented in an open debate that prostitution should be illegal. I was positively surprised. If there are some women and men who just want to have sex without all that relationship crap, why wouldn't they get money from it or pay for it? Of course the prostitute should be professional, so that they would know who is getting paid and who is paying.

I don't see anything bad with making porno movies and so on. why? because is pretty normal those kind of acts as for except some stuff like pedophile, zoophile and all other , usually, called 'weird'.
Now many people say stuff for example as 'Porno' is bad for kids, wich is an opinion i agree with.. BUT that 'issue' does not belong to the kids nor to the 'Porno makers'.. that responsability is of their parents who are in the duty to take care of their own kids.
About Prostitution i think everyone can do whatever they want with their body.. renting it for some time is okay if both parts agree to make a deal.

Sure porn is all good and fine, most people especially the young one's get it free off the net, no harm done, but have very many of you actually gone to a store that sells smut? My wife being a fairly modified person (tats & piercings) had no other option than to procure work at one of these "fine" establishments, and you wouldn't believe the shit that goes on there. They have a few rooms in the back of the store, each room locks and is intended for the purpose of previewing movies, the machines/t.v.s whatever, take bills, the scumbags usually get $1 bills so they can jump from booth to booth to find a fuck buddy.. one of the rooms even has a glory hole. So a lot of these sleeze bags come to the store to fuck each other in the backrooms (pretty much closet homosexuals/bisexuals that you would never guess,) jerk off, deficate on the floor, shoot up heroine, indecent exposure, amongst other shit.
A few times the cops have come by because some sick fuck had a child in his back sleep at 12am in the morning, and I've overheard people on their cell phones in the parking lot talking some sick shit while jerking off... some guy in a truck pulled up next to me and did this, he sounded like a pedophile. In the same vain there are parking lot sharks, people who drive around the parking lot to find someone to fuck, they actually have the nerve to pull up next to your car and pretty much hit on you.
This response is kind of scattered because I actually have to go to this place right now to hang out with my wife for her break..

That is sick, I think that all pedophiles should hang, porn industry is ok to me as long as it is professional but staff like this... for god sake

@Scarrowed Muse: sounds disgusting. legalized prostitution would be much more "clean" so to speak. and much more organized. pedophilia would still be illegal, cos thats just horrible when kids are subjected to unwanted sex, or even if they wanted, but didnt really understand the consequences...
