Secend: In Baltic States are a lot of small, unqnown good metal bands, my PC are full whit MP3 whit Baltic Metal bands

They start whit pagan/black metal and now more pagan/folk metal
Lyrics are about latvian history in 12 century and in WWI and about latvian gods [url]www.skyforger.lv[/url]
Heavens Gray are/was gothic/doom metal band, only in Latvia who palys doom metal, band has one demo and one album, bouth in tapes and its hard to get them, but maybe someone knows this band?

Urskumug - Plays black metal, if you like nordic BM than you like this band, thay are one demo and split album, now thay realised album "Am Nodr"

Whispering Forest are great band: Thay play Deep, dark and atmospheric death/doom metal with female vocals, grunts, an organ, violin, etc. Despite the atmospheric elements, they are gut chrushingly heavy and slow grinding. A bit like early My Dying Bride ('As The Flower Withers' era) but with more atmospheric passages.

why you have choosen only black/doom/death metal bands to your options? there are no power, no heavy or other melodic metal bands in baltic area? i accept you may not listen to them, but then name the topic "best baltic extreme metal band" to make it obvious  P.S. the link to Whispering Forrest leads to really funny page...wrong extension?

"the best what we got"...sorry, but for me it seems same like when you will present finnish metal scene to someone who dont know anything and you will present Children of Bodom, Ensifernum or Amorphis, but you will say nothing about Nightwish, Sonata Arctica or Stratovarius... of course i accept i dont know nothing about baltic metal scene, but i dont belive only extreme metal is played in here...

Britčta era) old Kabāt, Barakcuda, Beltaine, Vales, Black Pearl, CVrux, Dark Higlands, Dent, Emdless, Motorband, Maniac Butcher, Masters Hammer, Mytopheaia, Orkozozm, Return To Inocene, Sad Harmony, SSOGL, Six Degrese of Seperation, Trolech, V.A.R + ,mant others, I jsut psot all cz bands what I have heheh

Hm, Heavens Grey is playing in concerts... They had one concert in Black Friday club and they also had performance in Metalshow Open Air Festival. I didn't attend the first one and (very sad) i had to leave festival before the end.

@K7:Today,while I was surfing through MS,I found out this topic,and I read the names of those bands,which names you had written down.In general,I am very keen on Baltic cultures,languages and so on,so I decided to download songs of one of those bands.I chose the Estonian doom metal band Whispering Forest because of its name-sounds very tempting to a dark soul like me.  And I must admit,I got very impressed from these guys.They make awesome music!   (btw,at first,I thought they played black metal.  )

Skyforger released the best folk metal album I've heard to date, the Baltic scene or otherwise (Kauja Pie Saules was the album in case you're wondering). A lot of the other bands are nice, especially Bestia and Urt, but they don't compare to a band that manages to beat all the other bands in it's genre no matter the scene. The only one I haven't heard is Shadowdances. Will have to check them out. Anyway, Skyforger it is!

Damn, Bad English, your first post of this thread is horrible! I'm sure someone has told you that, but those variations from "Lithainia" to "Lithauania" are so  About the topic, well, I haven't heard much of so called 'Baltic metal', but there are few bands I know. For example, starting with my homecountry's Heaven Grey (mind your spelling!), Skyforger, Frailty (which is not mentioned here as I see, but for more information visit [url=www.myspace.com/frailtymetal]MySpace[/url]), Huskvarn (again look in [url=www.myspace.com/huskvarn]MySpace[/url]), Neglected Fields (which already has split-up), hmm... Heresiarh (which has split-up for a longer time) and now I really can say that's all I like from our local metal scene (although, maybe I've forgotten about something). I've heard few Lithuanian bands, but I must admit I haven't really listened much of Lithuanian metal. The same is with Estonians, though I'm definitely sure that I know Metsatöll at least. I guess now I should correct this lack of knowledge.

I remember some of those too...i only knew and "accept" Nightwish + load of well known "european power" metal bands and still wasnt "real metalhead" while listening to various poppy shit from mainstream radios and enjoying...now it is ridiculous to read posts from that time on some forums, where they still are...as well my oldest posts here on MS are weird sometimes...
