Nope. I, too, experience this. There are the post/close to TGCD era Katatonia feels in there.

Doesn't top Back to Times but the second best for sure.

I hear it in moments in the songs, but it's not the dominant vibe I take away from the album. Too dynamic overall. Katatonia is more pop/singer songwriter in their approach these days, and Disillusion is more symphonic.

But they can both really nail a melancholy moment.

Exactly, I didnt mention that, but thats a perfect description

After a while, I think I like this better than Wilderun, I didnt think anyone could compete with them, but here we are. Much better than their own last album, I dont think theres anything better released this year

Driftwood and Longhope are my favourite songs, such emotional ballads, I love this whole thing

Another great album after the masterpiece was "The Liberation"!!!

Here's an odd comparison: The opener reminds me a lot of Periphery's "Reptile".

Damn I just discovered this band!! wow ..... strong album!! I hope it stays in the TOP 3 of 2022 it deserves it!

EDIT: AOTY 2022 FOR ME

Very strong album just like it's predecessor. The opening and ending verses of the opening song is near perfect. The lead singer looks like he has a lot of character.

Brilliant album from a band I'd never heard of until I hopped on here to check out what's been released since I last did a new music binge - better than the latest Wilderun, and possibly as good as the prior one too, been growing on me with every listen!

I absolutely hated this when it was released. Now? Very close to BTTOS as their best album, for me. Stellar.
