The Nu Metal pioneers, Korn have been putting out albums for some years now. While much of their fan base has dwindled, many of their albums are still talked about. So here is the question, what is your favorite album from Korn?

For me, I am going with 2002's Untouchables. This album showed Korn going in a new, more Avant-Garde direction. Maybe it was because of their Faith No More influence. Maybe they were wising up? Maybe it was a fluke? Not sure. But the opening track, "Here To Stay" might be my favorite Korn song ever.

So how about the rest of you?

Untouchables was my first Korn album and it remains my favorite. i still listen to it occasionally. never heard all of their albums, should look into them tbh.

Woah. Actually, the Untouchables is kind of unique to their discography. The only other album that I can think about that sounds as disturbed/depraved is 'Follow the Leader'. There is something about that album.. 'Here to Stay' and 'Thoughtless' are incredible songs imo.

Not really a fan of the band anymore, but when I was I liked Untouchables best, followed by Issues. I think anyways, not long after Untouchables came out I kinda grew bored with them, and the whole nu-metal thing for that matter.

I should dig them out again and give them a listen, even if only for a few memories.

Untouchables in probably my favorite of their albums. It had probably the darkest sound yet it is the album that I though suited them better than the crap they have pulled off on most of their other albums.

Issues is my favorite because Falling Away From Me is just a awsome song. I like their songs that are slow but yet have the creepy sound. Other than that I'm not really into them. Though Untouchables Alone I Break is another one of their songs I'm into thats slow and creepy.

I really don't like Korn as such, but there's one album that I liked it so much since the day it was released and that's "Take a Look in the Mirror". Some songs are so good on this album. And also it sounds a bit heavier than previous albums to me.

Untouchables

They said they spent over 1 million us dollars producing the album - I believe that - it might be the best studio produced album I have ever heard. It's flawless.

The only ones I've heard in their entirety, are the first two. I'll go with "Life Is Peachy" as it's more consistent than the debut.

I wasn't sure if I should vote, seeing as most Korn albums I've only heard isolated tracks from. I have heard most of "Follow The Leader" though. I chose "Life Is Peachy" because I like most of the songs on it, and "Good God" is my fave Korn song!

I still have to hear some albums but atm I would go with the s/t... I disagree with Angelic Storm as I view the s/t to b really strong and it has that feeling of "right in the face" I love.

It is a great album but Life Is Peachy just seems a lot more complete, as if the band had really geled. Anyone heard L.A.P.D.? Korn before Jonathan Davis and Head? They were pretty cool with a funk sound.

The S/T is good, but I feel the stand out moments like "Shoots And Ladders", "Faget", and "Blind" are definitely a cut above most of the album's other songs. "Life Is Peachy" I feel is a more well-rounded, and more complete sounding album. The S/T sure has some great songs, but its a bit disjointed, IMO.

As for L.A.P.D., I have heard them, but can't remember what they sound like! I do know that Blind was writted while Jonathan was still in that band, and was co-written by one of the other L.A.P.D. members, but he wasn't credits for it for years, until he threatened to sue.

I don't know, when I hear the s/t I don't really care for the music in a technical level, I don't care about the sound but the straighforward-style they had.
From the little stuff I heard from Life Is Peachy, I have to agree with Herzebeth's review that put my thoughts perfectly:

Quote:
So Korn polished their playing capabilities, that's great indeed, but that meant something else as well?they lost the "I don't give a fuck if I'm flawless or not, I just bring you down with "Ball Tongue" mothafucka" attitude found in their debut album, so the hostility and utter violence becomes a little mild in the general playing-list of "Life Is Peachy"

There's something just way too fucking awesone about lines like "You know what? FUCK YOU!, I'm feed up with you, Am I not as good as you?, FUCK NO!!! I'M BETTER THAN YOOOOOUUUU!!!"...from "Divine" it's simple but effective as hell... And that feeling was present in every minute of the debut imho.
And for me that attitude was the main thing I liked from Korn, that's why the s/t is atm the best one, I'm still gonna check out the ones I have left but I highly doubt that my feelings will change
I'm not saying that the albums after the debut were all mind and peaceful, but just not as agressive.

Blind was written by Jonathan Davis but he wasn't in L.A.P.D., he was in Sexart at the time, he co-wrote it with the guitarist of Sexart I think. As for L.A.P.D., here's their full album in order, enjoy (I repeat for those who don't know L.A.P.D. is basically Korn before Jon Davis; Fieldy, Munky and David Silveria where all part of the band, Head joined after the recordings):

Oops! *blushing* I knew "Blind" was written by one of the pre-Korn bands, I forgot about Sexart.

The other Sexart guy who wrote it wasn't given credit for years. I think he is credited now.

Yep! It's very punky, really nothing like Korn at all. Despite all the flak Korn get, when they first started, they were a very fresh and unique band.
