A great album, unfortunately hitting gatekeepers where it hurts - introducing something new in Doom Metal.

exactly... when a band sticks to it's sound people say "they lack originality"... and when a band diverts a little bit people are like "oh this isn't them anymore"

This album is pretty different from their older works but i find it just as enjoyable/miserable.

Satyr73 has been given a time-out for their rude behavior. No need to jump to insults just because someone disagrees with you.

Amazing how something so mediocre can inspire such passionate responses.

I'm late to this album, finally got it! I like it though. While i'd definitely agree its their weakest album to date, I do really like the direction the band is going. I hear a lot of Ghosts of Loss in this Album. Anyway, I've always been a huge fan of Mikko's cleans and they're clearly the focus on this record. I agree with how thin the songs sound and I do miss the feeling of the old songs where on every listen I feel like i'd hear something new in each song. This record is a lot more accessible though and catchy. I found this is a great way to introduce my kids to one of my all time favorite bands. Maybe eventually they'll get to hear Mourning Never Came but I don't think they'd be singing along to Swallow Horror the same way that they sung along to Innocence Was Long Forgotten!

Highlights: Innocence Was Long Forgotten, What I Have Become, Under Moon & Sun, Kold, Charcoal Sky
