Oh, I'm about to bring back a discussion in which you guys might not have any interest left. But I want to comment on what Troy and Angelic Storm have said. Metalheads have no more tolerance when it comes to looks. I took more shit from my (now former) metalhead friends when I put on quite a bit of weight, than from the "regular" people. I hate saying "regular" people, because it doesn't mean shit, but you get the gist of it. I magically lost touch with most of those guy "friends" at that time; and just fast as I lost the weight, they mysteriously emerged from the fog that had previously engulfed them. The reason I got picked on so much by the metalheads is that I was supposed to be "a mascot". A fucking mascot. How reductive is that? I was the fun little Arab girl that had a nice ass, drank and listened to BM. I lost my shit that day. And the people I'm talking about are actually musicians behind some of your favourite black metal bands.

Everyone, from the cashier at the supermarket, to my teachers at uni, metalheads, and other acquaintances changed their behaviour. You'll see it when the smiles don't feel as genuine as before, when they give more attention to a thinner person than you. And it's OK, it's natural, and I'm sure I do the same myself based on this or other criteria. Everyone is shallow, and everybody is prejudiced against one thing or another. Most of those judgements are operated too fast and most of them unconsciously for us to prevent them or change them. It's biological, it's the search for the partner with whom it would be best to reproduce. But there's a difference between constantly picking on someone for it, and just not liking their looks. People are bastard-coated bastards, with bastard-filling. And it's OK. To make friends you just have to scratch the bastard-coating to see if there's less bastard-filling than in others . The huge-ass treadmill throning in my room isn't there for nothing, it stands as a reminder of that period, and every time I'm using it, I am using all that rage to run faster and further.

I don't discriminate too much when it comes to weight. Not because I have low standards but because it doesn't usually play a factor in my idea of physical beauty. I've dated girls who were petite and fat. My ideal preference is somewhere in between. There are quite a few chubby girls out there that I find attractive. Of course, I'm not referring to the Honey Boo Boo/"Fat redneck woman at Walmart" type. There's a point where too much fat becomes a turn off. A pretty face tends to do it for me though but personality is what matters most. That said, looks may not be everything when it comes to picking a partner but personally, I don't want to wake up next to this every morning.

That said, musical tastes does not make one more or less inclined to date bigger girls or any other kind of girl/guy/ladyboy/amputee/goldfish, etc.
