Nice instrumental post bm from USA. I just wish it had vocals... Yeah, it would become great then.

Fucking where?

It's so "ambient" that the video vanished into the atmosphere

hahaha my bad. Wrongly copy-pasta. It's up now.

Although it's a compilation Black Twilight Circle's 'Tliltic Tlapoyauak' could seriously be the best album this year. The sheer individuality and genius and memorable songwriting on display is immense, all the while keeping the songs feeling like they belong together. Lots of curve balls too like clean vocals, flutes, bands doing things they didn't originally set out to do (like the Axeman track).

Technically this is a 2013 release as it had a limited release on cassette, though this year got the CD and LP editions.

Here's a few of the many highlights (the Kampilan track is particularly incredible).

Tracks 2, 3 and 4 and Dolorvotre's track (is a bit caustic to my ears) could be skipped but everything else is pure gold.

Black metal from Oregon (one of the band member plays for Wolves In The Throne Room live sessions). Could be my AOTY.

A new band from the New England area. Its kind of a mix of Diamond Head, Thin Lizzy, Angel Witch, Budgie, Rainbow and Sabbath. Great shit. Also has a female/male vocal duo

BANDCAMP

Another great release made in Dark Descent Records. This time, a hybrid of death and doom. At times reminds me of Portal (the ending part in "Arterial Mists of Doom" for example), which is always a good thing. Sick vocal delivery too.

It's all good. To each his own. I just listened to it again yesterday and it actually grows on me more. What is your fav album of this year so far?

I'm quoting you elsewhere because we'd have gone off-topic otherwise. You might have something new to share here, when I return the question. I personally have no album of the year yet, unfortunately. Only an EP, which is Vermin Womb's debut, a concentrated juice of death/grind/sludge and... [insert something like hate/violence/etc].

Now, returning your question. What is your album of the year?

Also, the MS server dicked out on me as I was editing my post earlier. Welcome.
