15.11.2014 - 04:14 Written by The Turbanator on 13.11.2014 at 12:13 Wowz. This cover art is so fucking elegant, yet so creepy and dark at the same time. Something intriguingly beautiful yet very slightly disturbing/ something wrong. I couldn't resist. I am not at all a fan of drone but this album is quite, QUITE good. The music matches my feelings toward the cover art, so far. A great representation. Thanks for the rec!

I found two more really great albums. First one is an avantgarde black metal release akin to some DsO with more accessible melodies and song structures, but also presenting some really incredible performance on all instruments. Really great stuff from Animus Mortis. The second is the latest Aphonic Threnody, which is essentially a super approachable death/funeral (idk which honestly) doom album. Soaked in melancholy, and ringing through your ears with haunting melodies for the entirety of the album, it should be enjoyable if you like any type of melodic/mournful doom.

Another fine polish black metal act. It's only half an hour long so not that much to lose

18.11.2014 - 23:45 Click the cover for bandcamp link. Altars - Paramnesia Death metal Morbid Angel and Immolation mélange, and just cavernous enough for my taste. --- This is so good I actually looked for it in the 2013 thread (yes, it's from 2013, arrest me) and here, but couldn't find any. I wouldn't be surprised is "the gang" knows about it. I'd bet a chips or two that I could find this band in Nathan's list of non-featured bands. EDIT: Ha! I could have been a chips or two richer if I were actually talking to somebody and not having a funny little monologue on this post.

19.11.2014 - 01:58 Written by Ilham on 18.11.2014 at 23:45 This is delicious. Really cool riffing with some pretty solid production and distinct enough of a style for me to not get it confused with any of the other million bands in this "cavernous dm" trend.

19.11.2014 - 02:07 Written by Alex F on 19.11.2014 at 01:58 Yeah it's usually really not my thing. That and the fact there's just enough of that little oldschool feel to it, it doesn't sound like hey tried to embark on the "let's all re-make osdm in a shower stall" train. That song Kaz'neh, and the closing track, they're almost sexually arousing.

The Deathtrip - Deep Drone Master. Without a doubt THE best album I have graced my ears with this year. Aldrahn is finally back in the game! Epic vocal work on this one. Crispy cold Black Metal.
