Some rather wired and old (Jan 2014) black metal with electronic effects from Poland, which I'm not sure if it was ever shared here (shame Paz):

(haven't head it completely myself)
Edit: It seems to be a side project of the Cssaba guy.

Moreover: avantgarde metal in the vein of VED BUENS ENDE, Virus and YUREI (actually yhe yurei guy plays in this). Most of the album seems to be written between 1993 and 1999, which makes it impressive. Feels like it could be a classic if it was released back then.

Progressive metal, the album's got a fair amount of variety, and the frontwoman has a killer voice.

Not sure what this is. Let's stick to the bandcamp description: experimental post-punk, shoegaze.

Jay shared the previous album months ago. There isn't much shoegaze in there, really just plain modern post-punk. You should have shared this in the non-metal thread .

I haven't listened to this one yet. It's called "the singles", I'm wondering if it's a compilation, even if I got an email saying it's a new album.

BTW mz (and others), this new and fancy way of linking bands Ilham introduced is very pretty and all, but if you don't mention the band and album name then people aren't going to be able to search for it in the thread to avoid reposts Just sayin' like (doubly goes for Alex's mass album art posts) </dad mode>

New project from Otrebor (Botanist) on drum duty and ex-Botanist member Bezaelith on everything else, songwriting included. I'll be honest: this knocks the last few Botanist records right out of the tree. Melting pot of post-rock, black metal, cosmic and space-like ambient and even some grungey alternative metal grooves. Overall it sounds atmospheric, psychedelic and epic as fuck. And then the icing on the cake are Bezaelith's vocals which elevate this even further. Lvx and Discordia are perhaps minor lulls on the album but that doesn't denigrate the overall impact of it.

Extremely interesting and discordant industrial / post-metal with Virus-ish vocals. Two 20 minute tracks. Heavy as sin; eerie and disconcerting stuff. The latter half of the second track descends into some nice soundscaping. I love the way it maintains a sense of dread throughout.

Distinctive and melodic-yet-sinister sounding core/punk-laden sludge. These guys have a nice tone and sense of progression that speaks to me. Almost anthemic at times.

Not sure what to call this. Technical progressive / alternative metal seems to apply well. Either way it's really nice, chunky and grooving with a very strong sound, bolstered by those distinctly "alternative" vocals that remind me somewhat of Darkane's great Andreas Sydow.

Interesting combination of stoner metal with noise rock. Not my favourite thing in the world but it's nice to see a bit of experimentation within stoner, which is a pretty stagnant area of music right now.

Vicious, nasty black-ish, core-ish sludge. Not that original these days but these guys have nailed their sound down to a T(eeth).

For some reason, you fail at imitating me:
1- I admitted that I don't know the exact genre.
2- You have not heard the one I shared , so it is actually new for you.
3- Finally, and most importantly, being dicky is not a mode you turn on when you need it. It must be your defult mode and way of thinking.
Being dicky is a serious stuff.

But seriously, their sound contains enough of metalic elements on my ears. Maybe it is just because I am a post-punk noob?

I really didn't hear any metallic element in the previous album, maybe their sound changed, I'll tell you when I get to it.
But hey I did sound dickish at least, maybe not just your brand of dickish. Too many dicks in my posts today.

That would be a great way to review albums. I give this album 1 "Ga."

But yeah, Elend is long dead it seems.

Man, you might be unto something here. It does have a nice ring to it.

Anyways, dude. Great shit on the previous page. the vocals on Lotus Thief are easily the second best female vocals I've heard the last couple of months (you can guess who is number one. ).
Anatomy of Habit was also fucking insane. I did not think it was going to sound THAT heavy. Jeez. Teeth were also pretty fucking rad. I always forgive the lack of originality if they band makes up for it with extra viciousness.

That post ranks *almost* as high as porn when it comes to reasons why I miss having internet at home. That's how much I liked it.

Lel, we obviously visit the same places for our music. I listened to 3 of those yesterday. That Katakombi sounded quite nice, the other two not as much though; was hoping they'd sound as good as their artworks suggested. Haven't heard Bog Oak yet so will get on that at some point.

And you should really put the band names somewhere so people can search for them in the future and not repost them =P
