Iron's 2010s

Thumbs up: +3
Very little metal here! My favorite albums from each year of the 2010s, roughly in order of preference annually. I include several albums from the same artists because some of them (e.g. Susanne Sundfør, SubRosa and Litku Klemetti) released pretty much AOTYs every time they released anything.

If I had to distill this into a top-11 and keep it to one album per artist, it would look something like:
Owen Pallett - Heartland (2010)
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake (2011)
Eleonoora Rosenholm - Hyväile minua pimeä tähti (2011)
Susanne Sundfør - The Silicone Veil (2012)
SubRosa - More Constant Than the Gods (2013)
Moonface - Julia With Blue Jeans On (2013)
Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion (2015)
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Skeleton Tree (2016)
Low - Double Negative (2018)
Litku Klemetti - Taika tapahtuu (2018)
FKA Twigs - Magdalene (2019)

These are all at least 9/10 albums and you should check them out.

Only just found this list, but will be working my way through it for sure. I used to follow your lists quite closely after your 2012 one introduced me to Susanne Sundfør! Can't thank you enough for that. Any plans to get back into annual list-making?

Thanks, that's awesome to hear.

I dunno, I keep lists for myself but the effort of assigning meaningful ratings or writing something cool about all those albums every year began to seem like a chore. And since I listen to fewer albums annually, these days (maybe really only about 50 properly), there are very few new metal albums - and those are stuff that everybody knows anyway. Like this year, it's Sweven, Oranssi Pazuzu and Ulcerate that have interested me so far, and nobody here needs to be told about those. So it felt like spamming the wrong forum. We'll see, though!
