There are so many Swedish bands thaat own all of those... We had Bathory! We had Heavy Load! We have Ofermod! We have Funeral Mist! We have Arckanum! We have Malign! We even have fucking Marduk! How can people even consider In Flames, Sonic Syndicate or Opeth when these exist?

I've changed my mind. That's why I never vote in these polls because a question as big as this can have so many answers and change the next minute. Today I believe the Black Metal band War is my favourite band from Sweden. Simple, pure and raw Black. Old school style, think Bathory but faster and more aggressive. The members are legends and I'd kill for a reunion!

We also had some more underground shit. Dead's old band Morbid put out a forgotten old black/death metal classic salled December Moon for instance. Also, there is fucking Desultory...  If you like early Dissection you should also look up Vinterland.

I would say Evergrey, hands down. But at the gates, soilwork, pain of salvation, hammerfall are other bands worth mentioning. Why in the world isn´t at the gates in the poll? (i assume the poll was for heavier bands)

Spawn of Possession or Bloodbath for me. The Swedes always manage to bring some good death metal, even this new band Tribulation sound good. What is it with Sweden, they're metal everywhere ... go Canada !

I voted Opeth, but I have to say that it was a tough choice for me, as 3 of my favorite bands were on the list in the form of Opeth, Amon Amarth, and In Flames. I chose Opeth because that's what I've been listening to most as of recent, and I think they're song writing is on a whole other level.
