This is a hard one. I love everyone of these bands. When it comes down to it I would pick Metallica (Kill 'em All - ...And Justice for All) or Slayer. Metallica's new stuff isn't good but they still are superior. Slayer could also be the best because of how they have never changed their sound. In my mind it comes down to Metallica or Slayer.

I can't really decide. I'm split between Slayer and Kreator, my two all-time favorite thrash metal bands. All of the bands up here are really good, but tell me. Where is Overkill on the list?

My two favourite thrash metal bands are Dark Angel, Darkness Descends is IMO the only thrash album that can top Reign In Blood and my other favourite band is Testament, their fucking riffs are delivered straight from hell. Of course and the other bands are great but Testament and Dark Angel are my favourites.

Metallica for me. Was a hard choice between Metallica and Pantera. But my overall favourite thrash band would have to be Testament hands down.

i choose exodus.it's such a great band and i think many people underappreciate them. next would be kreator and destruction

I voted for Slayer a while ago, but right now Anthrax is my favorite thrash band. Slayer is my all-time favorite but I"m a little burned out with them.

There should be a thread about Bay Area Thrash Metal bands, only for well-informed thrashers, to avoid having commentaries like the ones fom "the mudvayne-kid". Anyhow, my fav thrash band is Forbidden.

And I highly recommend Sabbat, now disbanded. By the way, Sabbat from the UK!, there's a japanese crap with the same name.

also,i voted for megadeth 2 pages ago,but now i think slayer is the most aggresive out of the bands listed, and it has quite a lot of dark,evil songs like seasons or skeletons of society.
i said on another thread that i first heard seasons in the abyss on beavis and butthead and kinda liked it

I know they may not have been around for long, but what about Darkane? -> I personally regard them as more of a thrash orientated band, although some may beg to differ... I'd choose other I it were allowed and if I could vote. (it sucks being banned )

Metallica for me. 1988, the year I was born, they build up "...And Justice For All".

I vote for Metallica, Ride the lightning and Master of Puppets are masterpieces for all time. Now theres Carnal Forge band that also is a good thrash band

Since I haven't heard all of the bands that are on the list, I wont vote yet. But right now I say Metallica without doubt. One of the bands that got me into metal and Master of Puppets is my all time favourite song.

fucking death angel were awesome. forbidden kicked ass, mordred were also killer! all bay area these guys were.....

Anthrax (Other) -

Slayer and Sepultura would be fighting for 2ed place. IMO.

Anthrax doesn't get enough credit on this forum for some reason. Fistful of Metal, Spreading the Disease, and Among the Living are fucking masterpieces. The only band that put out better albums than those in the 80's is Slayer and Megadeth.

Are you sure than thay lead the Thrash movement ?? what about Sodom and Celtic Frost ?

I'm not a big fan of Trash Metal, but I choosed Slayer. When I saw them at SuperBock SuperRock Festival 05 I really liked their sound.
