Really didnt liked this topic! Rudolf Schenker WTF? so where is John Bon Jovi man? huhu
He is the guitarist with the biggest band of all time from mainland Europe and Besides who can forget "Winds of Change" .
I love scorpions! but cant see any heroic thing in this band for metal. you didnt put Iommi man! where is Slash? and a lot of others? I know that you cant put all of them here but some of them are really needed here
I don't think Gn'R can qualify as a Metal band. They do come very close.
Awwww, Scorions is a metal band? wow
According to Sam Dunn,Scorpions is a Power Metal band.

Written by Thought. on 06.11.2009 at 05:22 ...Also, Nibir, don't take to heart ANYTHING the media spoon feeds you. You don't know what really went on. I suggest you forget trying to know. Nobody but Phil, Dime, and the band knows, and that's probably how it will always be.
Actually, Rex has said he blames both the Abbot brothers' and Phil's "bitching" for Pantera's split. The media love to paint Phil as the bad guy, but I think Rex has a better idea of what really went on than anyone else. So, if he doesn't blame Phil solely, then neither should anyone else. I dont hold anything against Phil, apart from maybe being a druggy, which I think definitely contributed to Pantera's split. But, Id rather listen to Rex, than media publications that dont know the meaning of the word "impartiality".

My greatest metal hero is Schuldiner. The music of Death is some of the earliest death metal I truly enjoy listening to on a regular basis. Some of the other old school stuff is just TOO old school (not tr00, don't care).

My personal metal heroes?
Tony Iommi: The man who brought the heavy metal riff to the masses, none of this would be possible without him.
Steve Harris: A true defender of the faith and all around good egg.
Matt Pike: All he does turns to gold, doomy stoner gold.
Lemmy Kilmister: Soak your metal in whiskey and gravel.
John Cobbett: An unheralded metal hero. He would be on my list for Hammers of Misfortune if nothing else.
Scott Wino: I firmly believe that doom metal is where it is today because of this man.
Devin Townsend: The quirkiest character in the genre. And a most talented songwriter to boot.
There are many and more but I'll wrap up this list for now.

I didnt vote for any of them listed above....i voted others..my choice would be tony iommi..
Yea, it's Tony Iommi for me too. Sore fingers and down tuning created the thick dark sound we've all come to love. Add that to his ton of creative riffs and you have the original Metal God/Hero.
