This genre is so epic, really I was really into extreme genres of metal like nu metal and this is the way I want metal to evolve! You can't possible think that the new Death/Black metal bands release something original, this japanese created a complete new genre approved by all the Hipsters.

This is the best thing that happened to metal since KoRn reinvented it.

You may not like it first like when you first started to listen to Death metal because you wanted to be accepted by the other metalheads, but after a few tries you will think this guys are pure genius. Japanese you never disappoint me! I knew you were up to something great after the great hit of "Gangnam Style" by Sigh

I quite genuinely like this band. Although liking some elements of J-Pop anyway probably helps that quite a lot.

Strange that nobody revived this thread in regards of recent Babymetal related events, such as their European tour (and mainstage performance at Sonisphere UK) and arriving first at Metal Hammer's "world cup" (ok, just another online voting award, but still).

Anyway, I knew about them for well over a year and liked the idea since, like many other "idols" bands directed to pervs kids, they introduce their young audience to varied music genres including hard rock (that would not happen even in a million years in France). But this time it was metal, so that was even better!

Yet since I've watched those videos of the Sonisphere gig I dug a bit further to a point I fear I might just be addicted: 95% of what I've listened in the past 2 weeks was Babymetal only... and I must add that I did listen to three times as much music as I usually do in that period.

First time I've ever heard someone call Babymetal nu metal, they really aren't. Musically they are pretty eclectic, both in terms of metal subgenres they mix and pop genres they include. Anyway, Babymetal is cool, mainly because of how absurd it is.

Yeah like, I could care less about what they're doing, but playing a non japan-freak-show metal concert is edging me over. If I was long to heavy mtl, I'd be annoyed, hopefully it's easy to leave for 30ish minutes and then come back.
