24.02.2014 - 02:39 Written by deadone on 24.02.2014 at 01:49 I agree, I'm not paying for the music, I'm paying for the collectible aspect of it. I've only bought a few digital downloads, and none were over $2.

25.02.2014 - 12:24 Written by deadone on 24.02.2014 at 01:49 I'm exactly like that. Unless I have a physical copy in my CD shelf, it doesn't feel I'm owning the album. Never paying for downloads.

25.02.2014 - 15:32 Written by Boxcar Willy on 24.02.2014 at 23:58 Not to get too off-topic, but I think of paintings and music as apples and oranges. I would pay for digital music (Bandcamp) but that's because I get to keep the files on my hard drive. I wouldn't buy a digital picture because I'd rather be able to frame it or hang it up somewhere rather than just keeping it buried in a folder or displayed as my desktop background.

25.02.2014 - 15:38 Written by Troy Killjoy on 25.02.2014 at 15:32 I'm thinking this about albums as well. Need to have the albums I own visible in the shelf, not stored on the computed, not visible

So we can keep this about 2014 albums and not about preferences, any discussion about format should be taken over here: http://www.metalstorm.net/forum/topic.php?topic_id=8376

Recently found a pretty good Finnish death metal band called Lie in Ruins. They're on the same label as Mitochondrion and Corpsessed. A pretty nice mix of old school riffing, modern/dense production, and great howling-ish vocals. bandcamp

Here's a few other things that I've been listening to. Stoner/Sludge by Towers bandcamp Raw, gross, and under-produced hardcore like stuff by Loinen bandcamp Really accessible death/funeral doom by Woe Unto Me bandcamp Decent raw doom/sludge stuff by Coltsblood bandcamp Really upbeat blackened thrash by Ancient Ascendant bandcamp Very standard atmospheric black metal with hints of other genres scattered around by Waldgeflüster bandcamp And finally some absolutely fantastic doom/sludge with tons of post elements by the amazing, the one, the only, Dirge bandcamp

Well, haven't heard it yet, but based on the bands line-up, I would say that God of Atheists' upcoming album could be woth a listen. http://www.godofatheists.com/

I could never even imagine myself voting for a video in the awards, but if this one makes it this year I'll probably give it a vote. Very cool stuff. The song is also excellent. It is Conan though of course, so to be expected.
