@ W-Lash: You can decrease the size using the Microsoft program for painting. Just open with it and click save. With that move you make the pic's size a lot smaller

Also here a band member is the same. It's eduardo in drums, I couldn't edit his name so I edited him as a session musician, so please delete Eduardo and put Eduardo Moya in his place or, just change his name and delete the session member.

If it works for everybody else, then... Besides, it's a matter of disk space saving, so I'm afraid those rules won't change. As to accepting other formats, only programmers can really tell, and I guess that if Ivan didn't allowthose formats, there was a reason.

Like the rules say "20kb should be more than enough". Can't you get your files down below that? Most file types aren't that good for being on the internet. .jpg is probably the best one, and you can get reasonable quality out of it (as long as you don't use paint! ) .gif is also ok, but other types like .png end up with fairly high file sizes.

I would like to send a message to some users.

A lot of you are adding new albums. They send the track list etc, but not the cover. It's definitely not helpful! I mean, if we have to search ourselves the cover or to wait one other edit... it cannot be fast, it doesn't work (and that's one of the reason why we're sooooo slowwwww !!!)


So right now: first, it could be good to stop to add new albums until that we finish to fix everything.

Also for now, PLEASE, stop to add albums, line up, members of bands that have inactive profiles! You'll be able to do it later (we will give you a green light when we would like to add some new bands), but for now it's just a mess for the staff... And if you believe that it is a way to add your favourite band on MS, it's not the good way to do it... we will always have the last word on this point... we're not Metal Archive.

One last thing, when you edit/add the picture of a band. There is NO interest to put a picture of the 80's if the band is still active. Try to add the LAST official promotional picture of the band, that's the best!

So remember we want to finish all the official featured bands first! Oki?

And while we're at it: please make use of the Add Tours function. It makes me sad to see people who invested a lot of time to add 30 tour dates as seperate events. I know that that's some hella work, that's why Ivan integrated the Add Tours tool. Seperate events cannot be connected to tours anymore, they need to be tours from the start, and that's why we have to reject those 30 events. I don't know why people don't understand that, may it be ignorance, stupidity or out of greed to get more community points, but please, save your and our time and use the tour tool, oki?

You're just talking about the Add tours thing in the 'Events' section, right? Do people really add all the dates for a single tour as seperate tours? What's the point of that? lol. Or have I just missunderstood?

@Jeff: Whenever I add a new album it'll be an upcoming one, and the cover will be newly released anyway, so I add that too. I think the last one I submitted was Celesty's new upcoming album.

There's no mistake here - Natalie was a guest singer in both 1997 and 1998. For a band member it would've been 1997-1998, but guests are not really a part of the band in between recording sessions, so years can be separated in this case.

Here again! This time because of my own mistake

I added by mistake Al Pirelli while he was already in the musician index and in the line up... and Greg Smith I edited him for the same years again..
So if u could reject/delete these 2 edits I did and delete Al Pireli from the musician index since he's twice inside now...

You can. Go to the 'frontpage' of the bands profile, the "Band Info", then where you see label, founded in, also known as, website, myspace et cetera click "Edit Band Info". Scroll down a bit and you can add/edit the biography.

Woow, this thread still exists... Isnt this probelm, like, solved ages ago???

@Stalker: yeah the original problem has been (mostly) solved I think, but there's still work to do in the "invisible" profiles. Also some of the "old" bands still miss members and the likes
