Interested in hearing what injuries you've taken in the mosh pit?

Ive had the usual ons that you get, bruises and sawness, and one time i had my big toe dislocated by this massive guy that jump backwards and landed on my toe popping it out. Oh my word did it hurt, but the pit was to compacked that i had to wait until the set change over to go off to the side and pop it back in.

'Injuries You've Had In The Pit' meaning exactly what it says. Its more interesting and entertaining to hear about the injuries ... not whether you stand there doing nothing. Thank you for you cooperation.

Attended a concert on Saturday, some pretty obscure(for me) bands. My leg hurt so I didn't go into the mosh pit at first, considering that some guys were jumping around pretty recklessly there. Anyway, soon I still went into the pit and after a short time, some people fell on me and I injured my leg, nothing serious but it hurt quite a lot that day and still does a bit now.
Otherwise I have only suffered slight hits, fallen over a few times, etc. I think the harshest mosh pit I've been in was at Extreme Noise Terror. Not really a fan of very aggressive pits.

Many many black bruises but the worst was a broken finger in a concert of local bands,I was so wasted that I realized it only in the next day...

This must have been, 2 or 3 years ago now when Testament were playing with their original line up in London, I was drunk. I went into the pit during Into The Pit, now Im not a big fan of pits but for some songs you just have to stand and deliver. Everything was great, the pit was lively and everyone stopped for the choruses raising their fists shouting along. Now at some point I lost my shoe, so I was looking around for it while being knocked about, it was tough but I found it. Having no time to put it back on in the pit, and not wanting to back out during the song I put the shoe on my right hand and carried on. My shoeless foot then slipped on some beer (?) and I fell and took someone down with me by accident. I gave a hand gesture to say sorry somehow, I hope he got the message, we both took a bad fall so we left the pit. And since then I have been drinking responsibly and taking caution in pits

One time at an Opeth concert, some crazy drugged out woman (fucking bitch) bit me a few times on the back and started clawing at me. It actually broke the skin and got infected. I immediately turned around and elbowed her in the side of the head. I was really pissed. I'm usually a very chivalrous person but biting crosses the line for me.

Another one that's just funny was when I was in a circle pit and everyone but me and a few people crashed and burned in a pile. As I looked back and said to myself "sucks to be them" I turned around and smashed into a support beam. I only got a large bump on the head but I felt pretty dumb.

I generally stay away from Moshing due to the fact that I'm not moshing material. I'm tall, almost as tall as most people at shows, but I'm pretty frail and tire out easily. I just like headbanging, air guitaring and fist pumping to enjoy the show I came to see.
I mosh occasionally though in smaller pits. Worst that ever happened to me was someone knocked my glasses out and they ended up getting ground into the dust. Dude that hit me was nice about it though. Offered to buy me a drink in apology.

The only bad thing that's happened to me was during a Cannibal Corpse pit when some dude got slammed into me as I was going to slam him, and his head smashed my nose. It's a little crooked now.

I guess having played contact hockey growing up it's hard for people to knock me down since I have a decent centre of balance.

Whiplash once... that hurt! Nile concert about 4 years ago.
broken finger, my finger got caught in this chick jumper who I was kitting on, but Opeth were so worth it and so was the sex after it, even with a broken finger.

No serious injuries. In one mosh pit I got elbowed in the nose, in another I got my baby finger dislocated when I rammed someone and caught it on his clothes.

I also once landed pretty hard on my sciatic area and was in a lot of pain for a few minutes, but it was nothing lasting.

I also once gave myself a vertigo attack from the force of headbanging. Managed not to fall though, thankfully. That pit was full of huge guys and I only weigh 55kg now. I was probably about 47-48 back then, LOL. Not ideal mosh material.

I was at a Tool show and the pit developed behind me as I was watching the band. Someone grabbed me by the back of my shirt and puled be down into the pit. I was run over numerous times kicked in the back. Messed up my back pretty good. Craziest show I have ever been to and that includes some DM shows. Those Tool kids were fuckin insane.

Bruises, bloody noses, all the good stuff. Nothing to serious, I'm pretty hardy. The worst so far was probably during Vital Remains in June. They started playing Dechristianize, I ran in, some dudes skull smashed my face, almost knocked me out. I was seeing stars, ears were ringing, lip and noses were bleeding pretty good. Never broken or dislocated anything. Really though, it's not a good pit unless I bleed from somewhere.

It's not an injury, but one time while I was headbanging I didn't notice that somebody jumped from the stage trying to crowd surf, and he fell on my head

Yeah well most of the pits I have been to were at Thrash and Death Metal shows and I always came out of those fine. It took a Tool pit to get hurt and I was not even trying to be in it lol.

I'm just like you, I wouldn't go into a pit, due to the fact that I'm frail and glass-wearing.

Moshing is a bit like smoking cigarettes really, some people think it's cool and you get a mild rush from it but ultimately it's pointless.
