Ok, so what is everones favourite Death album? In my opinion Human is on top, but only slightly... This is because of the degree of intensity and speed within this album.... It also, IMO contains one of the greatest tracks ever created 'Suicide Machine'

Symbolic and Scream Bloody Gore follow close behind.

I voted for The Sound Of Perseverance. Other than hearing the title track off of Symbolic, The Sound Of Perseverance was the first Death album I ever heard and it struck all the right chords with me. I was in awe of pretty much everything I heard, from start to finish. Because of that I think it holds a lot of sentimental value for me personally.

I love all Death albums and my fav changes from time to time but I voted Leprosy cause "Pull The Plug" is timeless and regardless how many times I listen to it, it gets never bored.

I would have to say Human because it is the perfect blend of technicality and heaviness not to mention my favorite line up ever Chuck, Sean Reinert, Paul Masvidal, and Steve DiGiorgio.

Mine is Symbolic. I think there is something like a "more spiritual essence" in it...

It's between "Scream Bloody Gore" and "Individual Thought Patterns" for me! Both are at either end of the spectrum, as far as style goes, but they're both perfect examples of their respective styles.

Seeing as I absolutely have to choose just one, I'll go with "Individual Thought Patterns". I just find that creatively, it's Chuck's magnum opus. Everything I adore about Death, I can find in that one album. Just a total classic!

I used to think there best was sound of perseverance (an album which i dont like anymore) .... now my tastes in death metal favour the more raw and aggressive side of death so i say leprosy.

The Sound Of Perseverance. I always felt like it was under rated but I see a decent amount of people here enjoy it as well. For me personally, it is my favorite Death album.

Underrated? I see it as an immensely overrated album (especially here on MS). Tbh I regard it as Death's worst one.

Leprosy is of course their best. It's got the thrashing chaos of Scream Bloody Gore, some more down tempo sections, and even small hints of the progressivness that is to come. Close second is Symbolic.

Most people I come across normally share the same opinion as yours regarding The Sound Of Perseverance. They also normally prefer Death's earlier work. Im the complete opposite, I prefer Death's later work but still enjoy their early stuff. I always felt like the odd ball for loving this album so much, lol.

This again, SBG is a good album but lacks the maturity, adventureous song writting, harmony, complexity, etc etc. The first 2 albums are only as good as the other early DM bands albums, it's the rest that made them standout from the others.

I voted for Symbolic. The demos on the re-release are awesome as well, Crystal Mountian in particular. Sound of Perseverance would be my #2.
