Mage for me, although it's the only band on this list that've heard. Still I found their first album to be quite pleasing...

Oh c'mon, spanish bands do not play only Heavy and Power Metal. IMO the greatest band from Spain are a prog band called Kathaarsys, they are by far the greatest thing I've heard in recent years, and one of my all time favorites, they have three albums but the third one called "Anonymous Ballad" (released this year) is the one I like the most, also their second effort called "Verses In Vain" is really awesome.

There are lots of cool bands from Spain, yes, I like Dark Moor and Warcry, but they have evolved from Heavy and Power metal.

Gotta go with Mägo De Oz, to me they are like Icons...

I'm going to say Runic, those who don't know this band should listen to some of their songs.
Other great Spanish bands are Dawn of Tears, Northland, Karlahan, The Eyes, or Vidres a la Sang who sing in Catalan.
All of them highly recommended, give them a listen.

I'll go with Machetazo. They still remain to this day after the '90s Spanish extreme underground scene. They also use horror film sound effects and dialogue much like Mortician, only they're far better.

Of Darkness is an interesting funeral doom band.

Has anyone heard of "Angelus Apátrida" ? They are one of the most influential bands in the Spanish Thrash Metal scene.

I like Spain's blackened death scene. Teitanblood and Noctem are my favorites.

This is for me between Avalanch and Warcry, but i voted finally for Avalanch, although while Warcry remains faithful to its style, Avalanch seems to lose what they was one time...

Either Mistweaver or Runic.

Mistweaver play some really great melodic death metal, their new album last year made my top 10 of 2010.

Runic play 'Ensiferum style' viking/folk metal but haven't released any new material for a good while.

Well, i was listening their album now, and i find some songs very good (for example: oaks, A thousand nails), they sound very "contundente" (overwhelming? forcefulness?)
