Awesome album. At least the equal of Paranoid.
Can't believe it's rated lower than Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Mob Rules.

Unfortunately this album is overshadowed by the brilliance of its predecessor-nonetheless, it still has some glorious moments, such as the sprawling 'Megalomania' and mental 'Hole in the Sky'.

Sabotage is another great milestone in their career. Symptom of the Universe is my favourite heavy metal song of all time and could easily be the first thrash metal song. Megolamania and hole in the sky are also great. Its the last perfect album with Ozzy

It starts out great with the title track and "Megalomania", but the last three songs, frankly, suck.

I love "Supertzar" as a cool little bit of filler. As far as filler goes, it's killer (if that makes sense). Not a huge fan of "Am I Going Insane (Radio)" but I like "The Writ" - especially the bridge section. You are probably right, the album fades a bit but most albums do - only the great ones don't.

You're right! For some reason, I've always thought of HitS as the title track... Sorry!

Whilst overall, I do think this album is slightly lacking compared to it's immediate predecessor, some of the material on it is absolutely essential and classic. Side A (or the first 4 songs, for those who aren't old timers... ) of the album is flawless, and is on a par with all the best Sabbath album's starts. It may even be the strongest first 4 tracks on any Sabbath album. Side B is what lets the album down a bit, even though I like "Supertzar" a lot, and "The Writ" has some great aspects to it, but it's a tad overlong. It's not a great song all the way through. Overall, this is perhaps the weakest of the first 6 classic albums with Ozzy, but it does contain some of their all time best songs. There is still a lot to love here, for sure!

Actually, this is a lot more prog than Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (which just had a little Rick Wakeman anyway), yet it is also catchier. Musically their most ambitious album, and brilliant from start to finish.

Eh, too uneven, and I don't look to Sabbath for Prog, we have Rush for that. This is a step down from the prime era Ozzy albums, most notably the 2nd and 3rd albums. But, it does have Symptom of the Universe, that gives it at least a good rating.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time not only just from the Sabbath discography, but from the whole heavy metal history. I can't imagine voting it any less than 10/10 , as from my point of view, it is just flawless. Sabotage should not be cherished only for the fan-favorite tracks like "Hole in the Sky" or "The Thrill of it All" or "Symptom of the Universe," (which, I think, is the earliest example of a thrash metal song) but also for the epics like "megalomania," "Am I going insane" and "The Writ." These songs are musical and lyrical masterpieces. I would like to make a special emphasis on the lyrics of "Megalomania," a song which certainly is "like a trip inside a separate mind." Tony, Geezer, Ozzy and Bill, the fantastic four of heavy metal music, deliver, as they have always done before.
Overall, I just want to say that Sabotage truly is a frustratingly underrated album. It is no less great than, say Paranoid, or Master of Reality. This 1975 masterpiece will remain one of the most satisfying heavy metal releases till the end of time.

I think it's obvious that he's saying most of it is crap/average except the first track or two. His score of 6 further proves that he/she didn't enjoy the album very much.
You really should take English lessons.

This album is certainly one of their most groovy, some wicked grooves coming from the drumming and bass, and some of the riffs are outstanding. But the songwriting is far from the best, from their Ozzy era imo, it's Iommi's guitar work tho, that is clearly the best thing about this album for me.
I have to agree with what most people say about the album starting well and ending badly, the last three tracks imo are weak. "Hole In The Sky", and "Megalomania"are the main stand out tracks for me.

"Supertzar" hm, it's an interesting song name from a British band (tzar means Slavic king or emperor), whatever, it's a cool Prog Rock interlude with Choir. Well, back to the point. This is the last great album from Ozzy's era with epic "Megalomania", trippy "Am I Going Insane (Radio)", brutal "Symptom Of The Universe" and my personal favorite Black Sabbath song ever, sinister "Hole In The Sky" (the best Ozzy performance ever!). So, it's 8/10 +1 point for the most fashionable pants on a Metal album cover ever, presented by Bill Ward! xD
