04. Full Moon
05. A Better Me
06. Ashen Paradise
07. The Face Of Truth
08. Ode To Joy
09. Save Our Souls
10. Playtime [Japanese bonus]

Fifth album from these French power metallers. Not only is this album cheesy as hell, it has a ton of Queen influence on it. This is basically a power metal version of Queen. You'll need your cheese shields for this one, if not for the music then the cover!

Yes, quite. Different from the last. Less traditional power, more Queen-influence.

I listened to it once a few weeks ago, and my first thoughts were "it's much better than I expected." I really hate the cover though. I am not sure if I am going to listen to this one any time soon.

But seriously... Heavenly wouldn't even be allowed within a ten-mile radius of QUeen.
Sorry, but putting a band as generic as Heavenly on almost the same level as Queen is one of the biggest crimes ever on a music forum imo.

To say a band has influence from another band is not to say that the quality of music is as good as. Of course Queen are several levels above Heavenly.

I can't believe the hate that so many people of this page maintained against the Power.

Everyone likes different things, and nobody has the right to criticize without reason.

I love Heavenly an I love Queen, and I thing they are two different and fabulous bands!
Each has its merits and styles, and it's not bad that Carpe Diem has influences of Queen.

Great musicians shine by themselves.

It's indeed a really nice album, somewhat different from the previous ones, but keeping their identity.

Lol @ the Power Metal Queen idea...

I just dislike the idea of those heavy guitar riffs on track #1 and #6, it'd be much better without them, but whatever.

I believe Marcel you are Judging almost every new melodic metal album, except Doom, cause you from the old metal generation, and the new generation just love, catchy melodies and modern sound, and sees nothing bad, if some band takes influences from such masters as Queen.

Ps.: This was friendly, not offensive post

I havn;t even finished listening to this album, but I must Agree that this sounds like if Queen did power metal. To the Freddy Mercury like vocals, to the guitars sounding very similar to Brian May's Red Special, to even some of the songs sounding very much to bohemian Rhapsody. Heck, the lyrics too have a certain Queen-esque fashion to them (sadly nothign as good as killer Queen). The disappointment is that it sounds almost like a rip-off. I consider myself a Queen fan (which is strange because I only hold one album in high esteem), but theirs just a certain rip-offish quality to this music i just can't shake. OPutsiude of "save our Souls" and "Ashen Paradise", the album is just kind of balndm and its those songs alone which I suppose redeem it. 6/10

Check out the the vid off their virus album. I do remember this band now. the singer has a french english accent that is really difficult to ignore and at some points annoys me to no end. the music is good though. Will check out Carpe Diem when I get the chance..

Queen were very advanced for their time (Mainly in the late 70's) but to play a heavenly song is more difficult on guitars, bass, drums except for the piano and some vocal parts.
I understand that composition, performance, influence on music etc. are very important factors but I wouldn't say that Heavenly are inferior to Queen in terms of technicality.

Yes, they did it!! They did another incredible album as ever, and this time with an amazing new influences like Queen, and I don't know how but these converge in harmony in a perfect power metal.

I love this band.

What to say about this album? To put it short: it sucks on all kinds of aspects. Though, I probably wouldn't go so low with the rating if it wasn't for that pathetic cover. This is a music album not a softcore lesbian porn movie, there's a thousand-and-a-one other ways "to go yolo" with the cover

Much softer sounding album than all previous, still very good though! Some of Queen and even ABBA inspiration can be find here. Catchy and melodic with great performance! 8.5/10
