My favorite has to be from a band I very recently discovered, called Shade Empire. Their track Ravine is one excellent instrumental. Cool piano intro especially.

For me it´s between Orion and Sepultura´s Inquisition Symphony. Orion is just beautiful and diverse, makes you feel angry, and sad. Inquisition Symphony is great also, very aggressive and technical, i love pleying that one.

Blood Tsunami have two excellent instrumental songs on their two albums. First is Godbeater in their debut album, Thrash Metal. And Horsehead Nebula in their latest album, Grand Feast for Vultures.. Both are +10 minutes, and both have solid performances.

21.03.2010 - 16:48 Written by Valentin B on 08.03.2009 at 22:25 i can't believe i didn't say Yngwie Malmsteen's Black Star. seriously, the only tracks that clearly beat it are probably Icarus' Dream Suite(but it's based off a classical composition so it doesn't count), The Day at Guyana and maybe 1776 by Iced Earth. fuck all the rest, this is where the shit's at.

My three favorites: The song that got me into metal- The Call of Ktulu The song to be played at the beginning of my funeral- Intermezzo Liberte (Arch Enemy) And the song for the end- Vast Oceans Lachrymose/Epilogue (While Heaven Wept) all three incredibly moving, simply the best stuff i've ever heard

People keep saying Orion or Call of Ktulu are Metallica's best Instrumentals, but I perfer Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) myself. Something about it is just awestriking. Makes me wanna pick up a Bass and play the fuck out of it. I also perfer: Iron Maiden - Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick Anvil - March of the Crabs Motley Crue - God Bless the Children of the Beast King Diamond - Cremation

06.07.2011 - 07:38 Written by [user id=101272] on 06.07.2011 at 02:03 Bought Powerslave a few weeks ago and I've been mainly listening to tracks 3-8. Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) is one of the few songs I start headbanging to right away. Moby Dick is also great. Anyway, I gotta go with the god of instrumentals; Joe Satriani. I only own 'Surfing With The Alien' so I gotta go with the title track, Ice-9, Crushing Day, and Always With Me, Always With you for sentimental reasons. Not a big fan of Satch's Boogie, I actually wish he would switch the title with Crushing Day so it would be more fitting, but either way any of those songs is enough of a reason to buy the album.
