I would like to know everyone's favorite songs over 10 minutes in length. Maybe someone will even post a song that I have never heard, so I can check it out. My favorites are

Burzum - Det Som En Gang Var (Not my favorite song from Varg, but the atmosphere it creates is unparalleled. One of the riffs is awesome too.)

Symphony X - The Odyssey (Words can't really describe how good this song is. Amazing. The solos, keys, and drums area all great through the 24 minutes)

Opeth - The Moor (The intro alone is worth all the praise this song gets from us Opeth fans. Everything about the song is perfect, Mikael's vocals, the acoustic guitars, the heavy guitars, also I heard there is a sigh in the song, and nobody know how it came to be there. None of the band members sighed while recording, so I wonder what it was...)

Nile - Unas Slayer of the Gods (The horns in the middle of the songs are what really make this song a favorite of mine. The solo helps a little too)

Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno (My favorite Iced Earth song. It has some of the best lyrics and riffs ever. "Abandon all hope who enter here")

Iron Maiden- Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (Maiden must be mentioned in this list for me. THis is my favorite 10+ minute song by them because of the mellow part of the songs and the feeling that this song evokes]

I could go on and on, but I won't. The reason I didn't choose a Dream Theater song is because I can't choose one, same goes for Porcupine Tree. Also there are way more good Opeth songs than this, but I won't post them all.

Thanks for posting!

First of all it is not an EP it is just the second disc of The Glorious Burden. The Glorious Burden has a rating of 7.4 and says nothing about how people would rate Gettysburg 1863. I for one rated the entire The Glorious Burden a 5... whereas whould have been asked to rate solely Gettysburg 1863, I would rate that song (trilogy) an 8.2.

The rating is about right I would say since the dvd itself is quite bad although the song is very good.

X-Japan - Art Of Life: I can't say it's my favourite really but it's the one song that comes to my mind here. 29 minutes of pure awesomeness.
X-Japan - Rose Of Pain: same thing actually. Very beautiful ballad
Opeth - Deliverance
Enslaved - Lifandi Liv Undir Hamri
Enslaved - Neogenesis (Just Awesome)
Avantasia - The Seven Angels
Edguy - The Kingdom
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Gamma Ray - Waiting For Tomorrow

But they only did it for convenience reasons and to help in the orientation where in the story you are in each part. I think that counts as one song. Shine On You Crazy Diamond also comes in different parts.

And those Shine On You parts are also different songs in my opinion (like with Cybion)
Because when you paste the separate parts together without a break between them you will a clearskip to the next song, there isn't a flow which suggests it to be a single song,

The opposite I came across when reviewing Process of Guilt - Erosion. The first five songs are labeled as separate songs but when you put the cd in the five flow neatly into each other creating one song. So I think that they should have called the song just Circles and then call the subsequent parts different names (and not the other way around)

Now that's what we call a contracition.
I can agree on songs that supposedly belong together but skip if listened to in that order being individual ones. But Cybion doesn't skip once during it's whole duration. And at least they follow the same storyline which could be seen as another argument for being in fact one multi-part song. Otherwise Songs like Nightwish's Bless The Child and End Of All Hope also are one, and so are Emperor's Alsvartr and Ye Entranceperium (which combined also come close to 10 minutes). So you're saying that skipping songs can't be called one and also cybion can't although it doesn't skip and even deals with the same story.
Also on my copy of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, the first song is Shine On You Crazy Diamond I-V with 13:36 runtime and not skipping once.

Maybe I am mistaken but I clearly remember Cybion skipping between parts.
For Shine ON You Crazy Diamond I meant between SHine on You I-V and VI-IX I thought you meant those two put together make up one.

Maybe you listened to Cybion on mp3. I have yet to find a way to create gapless ones. If you buy the CD (which I know you won't, just if), the songs flow into one another. In fact the cuts seem to be quite random at times. When I first heard it I had a burnt copy of the original als was waiting for 72 minutes for the first song to end (I was on a seven hour car drive that day).

Yes I only have it on MP3. I Know it must be sossible to make that flow as well but it does take a lot of work (that's why some labels used to send out promos of albums cut up into 100 parts so that if you ripped them you would have 100 speaprate songs)
