"It's a great ennoblement to be accompanied by Slayer and Marilyn Manson." this statement blows my mind, for all the wrong reasons.

Behemoth is going to bring some unholy carnage to the table. I'll definitely have to attend one of these dates; most likely the Dallas one.

This was quite a shock to be honest. Manson and Behemoth? It's time to question their motives.

Wow, Slayer, Behemoth, AND Cannibal Corpse!? That might just be a great show even without the other shitty bands...

You are all looking at this the wrong way. Nergal always *always* speaks excitedly and highly of bands he's touring with. It's a matter of politeness regardless of some people's need to feel elitist. There are plenty of good bands here and plenty of shitty bands as well... just like every American tour. The bottom line is, America is a huge and expensive place to try to tour. There will always be shitty well known US bands on extensive tours and the only thing that will change this is a huge shift in the attitude and tastes of American people in general. I don't know if I would even want that.

Would you prefer Behemoth not come to the US at all? Would it be better if they did it cheap, short and quick and only did two shows thousands of miles a part and too far away for 90% of the interested population to attend? How about they still tour and talk SHIT about other acts they are coexisting with before it even begins?

Behemoth might seem huge but they aren't in America, trust me. Even the so called big bands such as Behemoth, Children of Bodom and Dimmu Borgir either have to suck it up and play with a large bill or not come AT ALL.

I'd rather yawn and roll my eyes at the few I don't have an interest in, in order to have the opportunity to see the handful of bands that actually come here.

This isn't Europe. There is no Hellfest, no Wacken. Even a huge festival like that here would fail without the inclusion of "stupid" bands. Of course music isn't all about the money but how many of you have thousands of dollars lying around that you can afford to waste on all the traveling involved? It is not cheap to tour here and unless you're Britney Spears or fucking Beyonce you better team up or prepare to file bankruptcy.

I don't really buy that. If bands like Rotting Christ, Celtic Frost, Vader and Destruction can do an extensive North American club tours with some vaguely respectable opening acts why can't these other bands?

Did you actually *see* the bands on the Vader bill?

I was at that show at Jaxx in VA. There were like 10 bands and I wouldn't have estimated the crowd to have been more than 300 people tops. It was actually quite depressing.

Don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy standing through shitty uninspired music. I've done it far too many times. But I am also a realist. If I was able to see Behemoth in Poland or Germany, I'd expect a 100% solid bill. However some American band support is sometimes a needed compromise.

The part in all this that pisses me off is simply the attack on Behemoth's integrity, like all of a sudden they have decided to play this other style of music or intend to let JfaC or MM in on the writing process. I've seen much stranger touring partners and it honestly means nothing overall. Despite their touring and increase in fanbase, Behemoth is still Behemoth and I seriously doubt sharing a stage with someone else is going to change that.

Yeah, Decapitated and Dew-Sentenced. Beats Trivium et al.

It's not a needed compromise, because other bands are able to tour without compromising. You're telling us it's either tour with Marilyn Manson or no NA tour, but that's not the decision being made at all. They're choosing these touring partners so that they can have bigger venues, bigger audiences, and (potentially) bigger paycheques. That's why people have a right to be disappointed.

Whatever guys. You can sling mud all you like. The show is coming very close to me so I am going to go see Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse and Slayer. And I will enjoy it. If you want to stay on the fence post and miss out, too bad.

Btw, for events of this type where there is a sponsor, individual bands may not even get to decide who else is going to be there. Just so you know.

Shitty line-up but it would be rad if Behemoth booked some side shows while in the US, preferably California. I'd love to see them again. Twice just isn't enough

Yeah, this is a step down in metal cred for Behemoth, but the fact remains they're going to rock a bunch of loser bands' fans to fucking hell. And that's what's really important.

If nothing else, consider it an outreach program, a missionary trip if you will, to save those poor, deluded Job For a Cowboy fans.

Dimmu Borgir was a terrible example as well, they came twice last year, managed to suck both times and still sold a very good number of tickets both times.

Long story short, this festival sucks ass, I hope more than 1 bus crashes, and I'm glad its not stopping in my city, because then I would need to make fun of all my friends with shitty musical tastes who decide to go - it saves me a lot of time and offended friends.

I really don't get why some of you people think this is a shitty festival... Slayer, Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse will simply destroy this tour. Sure, they're also the only bands worth anything on this tour, but when was the last time these 3 toured together?

Yes, but that tour happened more than 3years ago, in the meantime Vader also toured the USA with Abigail Williams, Light This City and Veil Of Maya and with The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless and Whitechapel on a more recent one (Vader was even supporting for TBDM back then).

Why would they in the first place? My guess is Behemoth don't really prefer these extensive North American club tours, as you put it, maybe they just like it big. Hell, they even toured as part of Ozzfest before, so why not with this line up?

Also, it's Dew-Scented. Sentenced is another story.

I would also say "why not?" in the sense that I don't think Behemoth really have that much integrity left to lose. I just wanted to point out that the excuse put forth by Mystic Ice was no excuse at all. I think it's perfectly fair for a fan to be disappointed, since Behemoth is choosing to chase fame or fortune or better tour buses (or something) at the expense of a higher quality tour. Plus gushing about Marilyn Manson is bound not to sit well with some fans.

As you might guess I'm not a fan; I showed up in time to see Decapitated and left as soon as they finished.

I agree that many bands on this list suck balls, but you know what...I live in Toronto and the number of good bands who actually come to Canada is pathetic and sad. I dream of Hellfest and Wacken, but guess what, that's all we get here.
And speaking of Behemoth, I'm so excited they're part of this, they deserve a big tour. So I can't wait to see some sick bands and kick some BFMV fans ass.:banger:

Dimmu Borgir headlined "The Invaluable Darkness Tour" in 2007 with only like, three other bands so using them as an example was a poor choice. There are some shitty bands playing but I'm still going for most of the bill.
