Who put death in my thrash metal? Or should I maybe ask who put thrash in my death metal? Well, the majority of the Sodom audience was less than impressed after the release of Better Off Dead, which was widely considered thin and weak, but let's also not forget that it had massive shoes to fill coming after the classic Agent Orange. The Germans decided to respond to the accusations of "turning soft" by delivering the ferocious and brutal Tapping The Vein, possibly the fastest and most extreme record in their career.

This is really good stuff. Just when other old thrash bands either broke up or stopped playing metal entirely, Sodom put in more steroids and got even ballsier than before. Tapping the Vein isn't best album around, but it sure gets the job done.

I'll always remember this album due to "Deadline". What a fucking banger.

This is probably the last good Sodom album I enjoyed before merging into overtly technicality of teutonic thrash, but then I wasn't a huge Sodom fan to begin with.

Yeah, must have been the last of their albums that I cared about back at the time, too. Though I did enjoy Get What You Deserve as well as Code Red, but thereafter they definitely lost me.
From the album at hand I recall several songs which are at least decent but not the one you mentioned. Bullet in the head, One step over the line, Wachturm are much more memorable if you ask me. Not even close to their best but an enjoyable album.

I wouldn’t consider this on par with Agent Orange or M16 but this is definitely an underrated piece in Sodom’s catalogue. The death metal touches works really nicely. I am so picking up that deluxe edition.

Tbh, if I've to compare Sodom's discography with other bands in the same duration, I found 'em feeble. You can hear some tight punches here and there, but Sodom's was always a good watered down thrash metal band. I do agree there are couple of albums "enjoyable", but not "memorable".
