Albums I Used To Have A Shirt Of (Or Still Have)

This list is mainly supposed to help my memory of which shirt I got hold of when. In chronological order, though I may have mixed up the timing on one or the other shirt because this all happened quite some time ago.

1. Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
Must have been one of my first metal shirts, wore it intensively back in 1992, it got later lost somewhere.
2. Biohazard - Urban Discipline
Also got this one in 1992, didnt like it that much any more later on and got rid of it.
3. Sodom - Agent Orange
Probably got hold of that one in 1993, also got lost some time later on.
4. Bolt Thrower - Warmaster
One of the few long sleeves I had, loved this one, really a shame I dont have it any more.
5. Bolt Thrower - The IVth Crusade
Got it in '93, where is it today? I dont know.
6. Obituary - The End Complete
Was it really this one I had? I did have one Obituary shirt in the 90s for sure, probably this one.
7. Sodom - Tapping The Vein
Didnt like it too much, neither the album nor the shirt, but I did have them both.
8. Unleashed - Shadows In The Deep
Another album I did not even like that much, but the cover art looked great on the shirt.
9. Blind Guardian - Somewhere Far Beyond
One of my favourite shirts back then. Shame that it's gone.
10. Sepultura - Chaos A.D.
Yeah, why did I get this shirt? I dont know. Probably because the album got released and I wanted to have a Sepultura shirt in '93.
11. Gamma Ray - Land Of The Free
Another favourite of mine; got it in '95; and I still have it today!
12. Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings
This is the only non-black metal shirt I ever had, it is a red one. The entire shirt has this same red color from the album's cover art; and also this one I still have today!
13. Grave Digger - Heart Of Darkness
Yeah..., liked the album a bit back then.
14. Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
There was a gap of several years when I didnt care for any metal shirts. In 2006, I realized I needed an Opeth shirt. This was the first one I got.
15. Opeth - Morningrise
About a year or so later I realized that the My Arms Your Hearse cover art is not the best for a shirt, so I ordered a Morningrise one (excellent!). Still have it.
16. Anathema - The Silent Enigma
At about the same time I thought, let's get some more shirts of your all-time favourite albums, so here we go with this one (beautiful shirt!)...
17. My Dying Bride - Turn Loose The Swans
...and this one. Still have them both.

They werent that many shirts after all, and the last time I got hold of one was already quite some time back. I have just never been that much of a metal shirt guy I guess.

That's really a cool idea for a list! I mean, the music you like or used to like is one thing, but the band you were willing to spend money on for a tee to show in public which music you identify with is a whole different story.
I bought quite a few t-shirts of well-known bands in the '90s, and I still have some of them, but I wouldn't wear them anymore nowadays for two reasons. First, they're usually way too big (for some inexplicable reason, I used to buy only oversized shirts that hung almost down to my knees. Whether that was fashionable back then, I can't say, but nowadays I'd find it embarrassing to walk around like that), and second, I no longer care much for many of my favorite bands from back then.

These old shirts are still hanging in my wardrobe. I haven’t thrown them out yet for nostalgic reasons, no matter how moth-eathen they are. Also, most of them smell funny.

Ride The Lightning
Master Of Puppets
Kings Of Metal
Gothic (long sleeve)
Blessed Are The Sick
Slave To The Grind (my first "metal" shirt, but I have no idea why I ever bought that)
The Astral Sleep
Twilight Of The Gods
Legion
The Crestfallen
Bloody Kisses (hoodie sweater)
Dance Of December Souls (long sleeve)
Heartwork
Tales From The Thousand Lakes (long sleeve)
The Fourth Dimension
Amok (long sleeve)
Trinity (long sleeve)
The Jester Race

Nowadays, I rarely buy band shirts, but at concerts, I just can't avoid the merchandise stand. Also, I like to own at least one piece of clothing from "newer" bands that have brought me the most joy in that particular year. Bandcamp is also a great source to have something tangible in addition to the digital album.

Off the top of my head...
Lights Out
When The Light Was Taken From Us
Adore
Come The Tide
Cuerpos En Sombra
Hyperion

However, the vast majority of shirts I still buy nowadays are as neutral as possible, ideally just showing the band logo without any reference to a specific album. The simpler the design, the better.

Wow! If it were the 90s now, I would definitely envy you for these shirts, at the minimum. They are just so much cooler than most of the shirts I had at that time. I also listened to these albums back then and loved them. For some reason I opted for other shirts though. Well, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side (does that fit here?).

Thanks, Cynic. For some unknown reason I never had any Slayer, Metallica or Megadeth shirt.

Cool idea for a list, I am an avid merch collector and have almost 100 band shirts at this point. When I was in high school I was always patrolling record labels clearance sections for good deals. Back then you could get 2 for $20 t shirts all day long!

A Real Mönkey
I have a variant of the Agent Orange shirt but it’s winter camo and has the lyrics on the back. It’s wearing down but still one of my favorites.

I got quite a few shirts myself, but I think my favorite are the sweatshirts. I got a Cattle Decap with sick design of Charon and the River Styx with the lyrics to Pacific Grim on the sleeves (...And when there's nowhere to hide/Death comes with the tide...), A Sunn O))) Domkirk shirt with a little church on the back, and a Lurker Of Chalice one with the weeping face on the back and Blackness/Silence on both sleeves.

I'm glad Fall is coming back down so I can wear them again. They're the crown jewels in my little collection of band memorabilia.

I never had any Slayer, Metallica or Megadeth shirt.

It was a starter package for any thrash fan to own these tshirts. I think it was also easily available due to the popularity.
