Pushed back to November after the cancellation of the headliner Slayer.
Dark Vission Entertainment, the promoters of the 2006 Monterrey Metal Fest and Mexico's Rock Metal magazine, have announced that Saxon and Doro will be playing an all-ages show on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Cafe Iguana in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico as part of the pre-Monterrey Metal Fest concert.
The official festival pre-party will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Cafe Iguana with mini-sets from bands that will be performing on the festival's main stage and second stage.

Los Angeles thrashers Slayer have cancelled their previously announced appearance at the third edition of the Monterrey Metal Fest, previously set to take place Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Coca Cola Auditorium in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Slayer, who were scheduled to headline the event, cited "personal reasons" as the cause of the cancellation. As a reaction the festival was set back, most likely until November. A new headliner and the exact date will be announced soon.

the reason why this metal fest happens its because we 'regios' got tired of all of the good events in the past, took place in mexico DF or Guadalajara.. and the organizer of this event feeled this.. so he organized this event not just for we ppl from monterrey, as for all ppl in the north and center of mexico. like chihuahua, san luis p. or tamaulipas. i remember that in the same date of the 1st monterrey metal fest event, in mexico city took place another event, called revolution metal fest.. or something like that. with very few audience and not real gr8 bands.. (only Stryper) think about it south ppl, we arent localists, we just want to have good bands in our city without trying to travel a thousand milles p.d. i'll not go to this show..

is suport everything you say Ddying Lolo i know many people who travel to mexico city and sacrifaices a lot of things togo and see their bands and now they have the oportunity off seeing their fav. in their own cities. happy for them . keep it metal
