I'd say Necrophagist - Fermented Offal Discharge , Necrophagist has a lot of great solos (Muhammed Suiçmez is a genius) and also Vader has some great solos like on "This is the War" "What Color is Your Blood" "The Book" "Die" etc, although Piotr uses mainly the whammy for his solos

The exact same one. Along with Stabwound too. I'll add Dismember's Override Of The Overture and Entombed's Left Hand Path. I'm still getting INTO DM so I haven't listened to a lot of songs, but this'll do for now.

I quoted my self... I just want to add all solos on Suffocation's Pierced From Within.

Dude... I think I'm not crazy but COB had been over that time a melodic DEATH metal band, they might have changed into thrash, but that album is melodic death...

They've never approached death metal, or (funny that some people even mention this) black metal. They're a power metal band, Alexi just happens to scream or growl or whatever he calls it instead of trying to impersonate Roy Khan.

It depends on the song/album, but there is more different from typical power metal in Children of Bodom than just the vocals. I have to agree though that "Kissing the Shadows" is basically just power metal with screamed vocals (though the vocal style is used mainly in melodic death metal as opposed to other extreme metal genres). A few of the riffs in the song also sound death metal influenced, there is a couple chuggy riffs, and there is the one chromatic progression in the rhythm guitar during the solo. Of course, that doesn't make it any more death metal than it makes Disturbed death metal.
