The most interesting Skullflower record since Tribulations. I approve. Still hella noisy as hell.

What the... I'm speechless. The musicianship is incredible, the melodies are captivating and the lyrics... Wow, just listen to them...

Hahhahaha, gotta love the reactions from people who aren't into noise. My reaction was pretty much the same though but more in the vein of "Why do you say more interesting? How is this album more instereting that the other noise stuff I heard that sounds just the same?".

Yeah, there's a few subtle changes here and there but really it's just another one of his noise albums. I like messing with people. Can't say I didn't warn them though.

Check out Korperschwache as well, I think they are somehow related to Skullflower

I actually only know Evil Walks and Ignore The Need by them and find both immensely enjoyable, although that word is too nice for the music

He has better work in his discography, IIIrd Gatekeeper, This Is Skullflower and Orange Canyon Mind in particular. Certainly less noisy if nothing else.

The main guy behind Korperschwache runs the semi-official Skullflower site. I always thought he was just a really big fan or something. By the way, with regards to Korperschwache, Crucial Blaze (a Crucial Blast sub-imprint) put out an 8 CDr set of Korperschwache material earlier this year. I'm gravitating towards purchasing it since they always have a way of making their blurbs about the music so darned interesting. http://www.crucialblast.net/korperschwache_howling.html
I love this record, but Bower is capable of much more than relentless harsh noise (pretty close to HNW). Still, the name of the record says it all.

Damn you, sir!
I shall mega-bitch to the mods about taking away your Staff Pick privileges. Then we'll see who has the last laugh!
I checked out Skullflower's earlier stuff, which Metal Storm labels Noise Rock. There is some interesting shit there, but this is a bit too much for me.
And calling this music would be stretching the definition of "music" quite far, I think.

You should check out this year's Government Alpha release. I think it's safe to say you'll definitely like that

Interesting. I never listened to a complete noise album before and I enjoyed some of it ("Anubis Station" reeks of darkness and despair... me likey). However, I'll be honest and say that I doubt that it will be the kind of music that I listen to regularly ^^

Yeah pure noise is not something you can dedicate a lot of time to to be honest. I think prefer Skullflower doing the Orange Canyon Mind style to this, which is becoming a bit old hat.

I never understood it either, how some people can listen to wall noise for so long without listening to much else. They must listen to top 40 in secrecy so they don't get shunned by their other wall-riding harsh head friends.
I think when you listen to pure noise like that for so long though, you start to hear parts that aren't actually there, just to try and create some variation in your mind. I saw someone write that about Vomir's music somewhere, and I noticed that before when listening to The Rita. Noisy Skullflower is pretty different than those two, though.

Well, pure noise can allow you to hear only the things you want too hear, to pick up on certain tones, and only those tones. But this is just my opinion.
I can't listen to a full noise album through, that's a little too extreme, but A few tracks off of YT is always nice ^^

I certainly find it QUITE hypnotizing in some aspects. To me, harsh noise wall seems to consist of two different parts, each of which could not remain relevant without the other. One is the actual recordings themselves, whereas the other is the imagery. For example, the whole Giallo/old-school horror movies/sharks/knives/guns/military/nylons/ass/skating/dirt-biking obsessions of The Rita really add more insight into the music, and, therefore, lend more of a hypnotic quality to it.
For example:
