May I just say this is probably the best must-have album of 2012, considering its The Agonist, a band that has never disappointed us and hasn't yet with this album. The band's third studio album called Prisoners has just enhanced my ears with the awesome vocals of Alissa-White Gluz and Chris Kelis. If you are already a fan of The Agonist then you probably already heard there last two kick ass albums and just couldn't wait for this masterpiece to arrive. It's just heavy and mind blowing to listen to; I couldn't put in words the reaction I had after finishing it.

At first I didn't expect to hear anything but original The Agonist play their music to entertain me and their dear fans. But they brought this totally unexpected piece of art into our hands (I just slapped myself because I thought this was a dream). The album was so brutal and carnivorous for me that the rain that night was like acid lava burning my house down in my mind (if you don't get it then sorry for my poor sense of humor).

I just love listening to metalcore and this band is one of only a few that entertain me with a female metal singer. If you read my review for Beautiful Tragedy then you know what I mean. But [i]Prisoners[i] brought this one step up then any other metalcore album I've heard this year. The album is again brutal, the lyrics symbolize many conflicts within the world and in the mind. You hear death metal elements in the songs making this my favorite pointer in the album.

So, yeah: if you love the band buy the album and tell your friends because they will become fans after hearing this album I promise you.

I would give this album a score of 10, but I feel some fans of The Agonist may not enjoy it as much as I did. Or maybe they are not use to the album and would rather listen to the band's previous works. But please give the album a chance because this is one epic piece of work from The Agonist.

This is a damn good album but for me it isn't a 9. Music is even better on it but I am really not a fan of her vocals which definitely drag it down a bit.

And children's choir in track 3 ugh.

Melodic Death indeed.

I love this band and everything they brought so far, but I think 9 is a bit too much. I'd go for 8,5 tops. It's a great album, but many classic great albums don't even have a 9, 9 is a FREAKIN good note. But i do love this album and would recommend it 100% to all the Melo-Death fans.
