Sunn O))) And Scott Walker - Share 'Brando' Short Film
Soused, the collaboration between drone doom metallers Sunn O))) and experimental musician Scott Walker was released this week. Some of you have probably already listened to it. Well, recently they've unveiled a short film, for the album's opening track, "Brando". French-Austrian artist, choreographer and director Gisèle Vienne has made the film titled Brando, inspired by, and using, Scott Walker and Sunn O)))'s song of the same name. Watch it here and give us your impressions of the piece.
With Vienne interpreting the tracks themes, the filming took place in a remote 1968 chalet in the French Alps with the story revolving around three performers - a dancer (Anja Röttgerkamp), a teenager (Léon Rubbens), and French arts icon Catherine Robbe-Grillet.
Gisèle is a frequent collaborator with Sunn O)))'s Stephen O'Malley, and they will be presenting Kindertotenlieder later this month - a hybrid dance theatre work she has choreographed with Stephen part of a musical duo accompanying the performers. Taking place from October 29th to November 1st at New York Live Arts on W 19th Street.
