I was pleasantly surprised by the first track, but stopped listening after a couple of tracks because it got a bit stale

It is stale. The only son that hit me was Loneliness, especially the chorus. It has this tremendously dark, yet eerie undertone. The thing I notice with Cadaveria's releases is they try to build this larger-than-life dynamics with each album, but cannot achieve the perfect equilibrium in the songs, thus resulting in far too static sound. It give it a 6/10 though, because it has its shiny moments.
