AYDRA - Unveil third single "Deserter" and final details of comeback album "Leave to Nowhere"

The wait is nearly over—after two decades of silence, cult death metal act AYDRA is set to return with their highly anticipated comeback album, Leave to Nowhere. Following a revival of their entire studio discography and rare material via Rude Awakening Records, AYDRA is poised to make a powerful statement in 2024.

The third and final single ahead of the album release is “Deserter,” out on September 22, 2024. This track explores the brutal realities of mandatory conscription in Eritrea, offering a glimpse into the album’s overarching concept. Leave to Nowhere tells the harrowing tale of a migrant’s journey from Africa to Europe, capturing the pain, struggle, and hope of those seeking a better life.

In addition to the album’s release, AYDRA is preparing to hit the stage for select live shows, reuniting old and new members. Leave to Nowhere will be available in digipack CD format and as a limited-edition colored vinyl, with only 200 hand-numbered copies available worldwide. Pre-orders are now open via Rude Awakening Records and directly from the band. The album is set for release on October 10, 2024.

HERUKA: signs with Rude Awakening Records for upcoming release – New single out now

Italian Black Metal act HERUKA is pleased to announce its renewed collaboration with Rude Awakening Records for 2025. Having worked together on multiple releases since 2020, including their latest full-length album Memorie, the band is now preparing to unveil a new chapter in their musical journey.

This upcoming release will continue to explore themes of death and suffering, staying true to the band’s signature fierce yet melodic approach. More details will be revealed soon.

In the meantime, HERUKA has released a lyric video for "Francis Bacon", now available on major streaming platforms. This track will be included in the forthcoming release.

About HERUKA

Originally formed as a duo in 2000 in Sicily, HERUKA released a demo and an EP before entering a ten-year hiatus. In 2010, Adranor (guitar) relocated to Rome, where he revived the project and completed the current lineup. The band's return was marked by their debut album, Deception’s End (2018).

HERUKA reveal new details for "Panacea" and launch new single "Taedium Vitae"

Cult black metal act Heruka returns with "Panacea", a six-track EP fully sung in Italian poetry-style lyrics, continuing the approach of their previous full-length Memorie. The death theme remains at the core of this release, reinforcing the band’s dark and evocative storytelling.

A new track, "Taedium Vitae", has been released as a visualizer and is now available on all major streaming platforms.

The cover artwork pays tribute to the death of Arria and Paetus, a dramatic episode from ancient Rome. Paetus, a prisoner after a failed revolt against Emperor Claudius, was urged by his wife Arria to take his own life rather than endure dishonor. When he hesitated, Arria demonstrated her resolve by stabbing herself, handing him the dagger with the words, "It does not hurt, Paetus." The artwork is based on François-André Vincent’s 1784 painting of the event.

Panacea will be released on March 21, 2025, in a limited edition digipack CD via Rude Awakening Records and will also be available on all major streaming platforms.

METAL DETEKTOR: all about “Violence and Pride”, new track online

Italian Heavy Metal stalwarts METAL DETEKTOR finally reveal all about their next full "Violence and Pride": the album, already anticipated by the single "Shadowrunner" (available at the link https://www.notnoise.co/link/metal-detektor-shadowrunner), is scheduled to be released on June 20 in a limited CD edition on Rude Awakening Records.

“Violence and Pride” comes five years after the last full-length "The Battle of Daytona" and four years after the EP "Maximum Overdrive," continuing to explore the roots of pure Heavy Metal, while at the same time evolving the band's sound with more reflective writing and a narrative that becomes more intimate and personal.

In the meantime, the new single 'Grendel Returns' has been released, revealing the more combative soul of the band and the album cover, created by the artist Mirko Cozza.

Sardinian Blackened Death Metallers SHARDANA Join The Roster of Rude Awakening Records

Shardana, the blackened death metal band from Sardinia, Italy, is proud to announce that a deal has been inked with Rome-based label Rude Awakening Records.
The deal regards a new album, the release date of which, as well as other details, have not yet been revealed.

The band debuted in 2010 with a self-titled EP, followed four years later by the self-released full-length No Cadena, No Presoni, No Spada, No Lei. The latest effort is the full-length Milli Annos (2020, Rafchild Records).

SHARDANA was formed early in 2008 with the intent of creating a metal band with epic and battling sounds, merging Heavy Metal with Black and Viking influences. Historically speaking, Shardana was the name of the Sardinian pirates who sailed the Mediterranean sea in the second millennium BCE. Their history inspires the songwriting of the band to a large degree, and the lyrics are about the glorious courage and legendary pride of those people who contributed so much to increase the influence of Sardinia at the times of pharaoh Ramses or during the Roman Empire.

Shardana, the blackened death metal band from Sardinia, Italy, has revealed the details of its new album, the first via Rude Awakening Records. The new effort is called The Monarch and it will be released on September 5th as jewel case and digital.

The Monarch is not a concept, although there are several songs that share a common theme: the passing of time, and the struggle of humans to avoid their inescapable fate. So you can imagine Time as “The Monarch”, a deaf giant monster that won’t listen to your prayers or insults, just standing still while you’re trying to overcome it, until the bitter end.

The lyrics of the songs “S’Inferru”, “Is Cerbus” and “Rei de Sonnu” are in sardinian. SHARDANA used its native language in order to keep sharing their local culture and keep the Sardinian dialect alive, not only to talk about the past, but also on modern topics and pop culture. The song “Self of Righteous” is inspired by Michael Moorcock’s novels series “The Silver Hand Trilogy”, while “S’Inferru” (“Hell” in Sardinian language) is inspired by the movie of the same name by Daniele Atzeni, about the struggles of the miners of Sulcis Iglesiente in the 20th Century.

New album "Cursed Be The Gift Of Life" of Greek doom/death metal band HUMANITY ZERO out on October 2025!

Funeral doom metal behemoths HUMANITY ZERO are considered one of Greece most obscure and sinister acts today. Formed in 2003 by Dimon's Night as a death metal band, they were best known for their primitive brutality and paradox melodies.

After two demos, one EP and three full-length albums HUMANITY ZERO began to create more complex, slow and macabre music. Their fourth album "Withered In Isolation" marked a new death/doom direction. After many line-up changes, Kydoimos of hate-fueled machine MISANTHROPY APOTHEOSIS joined the band as the vocalist and the band decided to continue as a duo consisting of Kydoimos on vocals and Dimon's Night on guitars/bass/drums. In 2018 the band released their fifth album "Proselytism" shocking their fans. Music-wise the music got slower and nightmarish accompanying the truly haunting lyrics. However, their most obscure opus had yet to be recorded...

Seven years after "Proselytism" HUMANITY ZERO emerge one more time from the tartarean kingdom in order to unleash their new spell. Sixth full-length is entitled "Cursed Be The Gift Of Life" and is the most sinister, punishing and heavy material the band ever recorded. Slow, deep and soul-devouring! A descent into the cosmic abyss! Five unearthly psalms to drag the soul into the lower pits of Hades! For fans of Shape Of Despair, Evoken, Asunder...

Blackened Death Metallers SHARDANA Unleash the Power of Sardinian Folklore with ‘Is Cerbus’ Lyric Video!

The Sardinian blackened death metal act Shardana is excited to deliver a lyric video for the song Is Cerbus, taken from the band’s upcoming album The Monarch, out on September 5th as jewel case and digital via Rude Awakening Records.

Is Cerbus is a term associated with the Sinnai Carnival in Sardinia, and refers to one of the main figures of the local tradition, known with this name. During the carnival, the Canaxus (beaters dressed in skins, cowbells, and other elements reminiscent of nature) are tasked with driving the Cerbus (men dressed as deer) toward the Cassadoris (hunters) who await them for the final slaughter, simulating a big game hunt.

More than 25 years after its original 1997 release, Romanian cult Prog Thrash band PSYCHO SYMPHONY brings back "Silent Fall". HERUKA: Live album out soon for 25th Anniversary

A quarter of a century of extreme music, artistic vision, and unwavering coherence: HERUKA celebrate 25 years of career with "Live in Rome", a live album capturing the full ferocity and intensity of the band in their natural habitat — the stage.

The release documents their performance at the Rome Carnage Extreme Fest held at Defrag in Rome, an incendiary night in which the band revisited their entire discography. The setlist was conceived as a true journey through the different artistic phases of HERUKA, performed with a power and cohesion that testify to the band’s outstanding form after 25 years of activity.

"Live in Rome" delivers the raw sonic impact of the concert — relentless riffs and pounding rhythms — transforming the event into a definitive portrait of HERUKA’s live dimension.

AYDRA, pioneers of Italian technical death metal, formed in 1985 evolving from thrash roots into an increasingly complex and aggressive sound.
