Skyclad - Working On New Material, Release Early Albums Compilation
British folk metal pioneers Skyclad show signs of life again. In February, they started working on new material for the successor to In The... All Together (2009). Skyclad plan to release this album, their 13th, within the next 12 months.
Skyclad comment: "We're really excited about having Dave back in the band. He's a fantastic guy, a great musician and songwriter! The whole band is really inspired, and we're making good progress on the album. Most of the bits and pieces are there already. Even though we played a couple of 'old school shows' recently, the new LP definitely won't be a thrash album; but it will be no typical folk metal album either. We'll use all the options we now have - with 3 guitarists, additional vocals, fiddle, keyboards, bass and drums - to create an album that will be the same but different. 100% Skyclad!"
A Bellyful Of Emptiness - The Very Best Of The Noise Years 1991 - 1995
Furthermore, it appears as if BGM is breathing life into Noise Records by releasing compilation albums of some of their most well-known bands such as Kreator, Kamelot, Helloween and of course Skyclad and a few others.
The Skyclad compilation is called A Bellyful Of Emptiness - The Very Best Of The Noise Years 1991 - 1995 and, as such, includes songs from albums The Wayward Sons Of Mother Earth through The Silent Whales Of Lunar Sea. It is a 2CD release with 33 tracks and a total runtime of approximately 2 and a half hours.
As Skyclad's early albums might be quite difficult to obtain in certain parts of the world, this should be a treat for fans who long for some of the band's long-lost gems. You can already buy the compilation over here.
