As I Lay Dying - Tim Lambesis Released From Prison

Back in 2014, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was incarcerated for conspiracy to commit murder after being sentenced to 6 years in prison. According to reports, he has been released from prison in December after serving less than half of his six-year sentence. The other members of As I Lay Dying went on to form Wovenwar.

The frontman was arrested in May 2013 after handing the "hitman", really an undercover police officer, $1,000 in cash, along with his wife's address and gate security codes.

Reports about Lambesis' release surfaced following a recent interview on Eddie Trunk's Show from the Monsters Of Rock Cruise. In that interview, George Lynch (former Dokken guitarist) discussed his relationship with Lambesis, mentioning: "He just got out of jail for attempting to kill his wife."

He also said: "Anyways, he's out. He's got a mega-record deal. He's got a book deal. Everything's lined up for him. I mean he's going to skate through life. Everybody else is suffering. His wife is living in fear. His children are living in fear."

I'm reluctant to believe that labels and publishers are chomping at the bit to get a piece of a man who, raging off 'roids, conspired to send a hitman after his wife. At least that's what I truly hope. Three years seems a bit short for someone to have rehabilitated from the lowest point in their life.

Wait a second.... If the hitman was an undercover cop doesn't that mean he didn't hire a hitman at all and therefore didn't du nuffin?

Exactly, why would a label want to be associated with someone like that? I call bull

They got it on tape that he was willing to pay the undercover cop to kill his wife. The cop asked him multiple times if he was sure and I believe he even gave him the money. That's enough to put someone away.

So it didn't raise any suspicion, that the guy only wanted a 1k for the job?

Probably an advance, with full payment after the job's done. Not that I'm familiar with the business... Really, I'm not.

If it was Jari, he would have crowdfunded the money for the hitman.

There are even shadier characters roaming around with big record deals after they were released from prison. For some people, such kind of publicity also means money. As cynic as it sounds. Furthermore, heard the guy is getting married as well. Talk about rehabilitation.

As long as it means another Austrian Death Machine album, I'm all good with him getting out.

That's the very definition of CONSPIRACY to commit murder (or any crime). All it takes is for two or more people to agree to commit a crime in order to be charged with it. It just so happens Tim agreed with a cop, making it pretty damning for him.

Sorry, I don't get 'George Lynch (former Dokken guitarist) discussed his relationship with Lambesis'. What's the link between them?
