Wintersun - Launch Video For 'Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring)'
Finnish Wintersun just dropped their highly anticipated record, The Forest Seasons. No full song or video had been released so far, but on the day of release, the lyric video for the 14-minute epic "Awaken From The Dark Slumber (Spring)" was launched on Jari Mäenpää's personal YouTube channel. The Forest Seasons consists of four lengthy tracks that reflect - as the name implies - the four seasons. Spring being the first. Check out the song below.

I feel like people on metalstorm want this to be bad whether or not it is or isn't. That said, the song kinda sounds needlessly long. Almost like he just wanted to write a long song and not because it naturally became long. Wasn't bad though.

I've only heard this single track from the album but I enjoyed it. Will probably check out the whole album now after hearing this. It was a longer track but didn't really feel 14 minutes long, nothing really sounded like filler to me.

Got better after the first 10 minutes. Sincerely hope it isn't the best song on the album, as the album page seems to be saying. Anyone else hearing a bit of latter Dimmu Borgir in there?

Not the best song they've ever written, but certainly not the worst. The mixing on Wintersun albums have always been pretty subpar. This one is no different. In fact, to even make albums like this is a feat. In itself.

You're right about how Autumn sounds. Except, it sounds like he was trying to copy Dimmu and kinda sorta failed miserably... Should flow like water and instead it sounds like it's all over the place, just mashing sounds together... Hey Jari, keep it simple, stupid!

Truly boring track. Starts out with a nice atmosphere, then goes downhill immediately. No memorable riffs, no exciting melodies, somewhat cringe-worthy lyrics too. Won't bother with the rest of the album.
