All of Hamferð's releases have been top notch melodic doom. On this one they definitely seem to have come fully into their own; distinctive and engaging from beginning to end. It's not easy to make music this slow that never seems to drag, but this one has a slow, deep, irresistable current that drags you ever onwards. Absolutely crushing.

This is pretty goddamn great. Really great balance of melancholic aspects and agressive/extreme passages.

This reminds me of Opeth at times. Maybe a bit slower, and the cleans are very different of course. But somehow, the feeling is a bit the same.

This is excellent music writing. The slower parts of this album has a eerie sinister feeling to it which makes me converge towards it rather than the harsher parts even though my personal likes are otherwise. Every doom release in 2018 has been top notch.

I didn't enjoy their 2024 record that just came out and I didn't expect to like this one, either. Boy am I glad I gave it a chance! This is beautiful. Listen and mourn indeed.
