Metal Capital Festival is the newly announced festival in Oulu (Finland). The very first edition will be taking place 18-19th June this year. To name some of the confirmed performers: Amaranthe, W.A.S.P., Iron Savior, The Duskfall, Ensiferum Wolfheart, Eluveitie, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow and so on. Full list here. However, at the end of the day, the Corona has the last word if this event will really happen.

Comment from the organizers: "Oulu has been known for decades as the capital of Finnish metal music, and our goal is to make it clear at once that this is indeed the case!

"The Äimärautio race track offers an unprecedented setting for the festival and the area can accommodate up to 100,000 people at a time at its best! From the very first festival, we want to offer people a unique festival experience, so we only sell 10,000 tickets a day.

"The area is located close to the center of Oulu, with excellent transport connections. We are building a festival in Oulu dedicated to pure metal music, which offers a high-level international table setting for bands combined with top Finnish offerings. We also bring bands to Oulu that have not visited here before, or at least do not visit too often. The musical level is kept at least as high as the flag of the real metal capital!

"As a festival experience, we strive to offer our visitors the best festival in Finland. The auditorium is partly amphitheater-like, so the visibility to the main stages placed side by side is great from all sides of the area. Our two-story VIP auditorium is also in a class of its own and there you will be able to enjoy the main stages of the parade venues with additional delicacies and this is only available to a very limited number of festival guests."
