The HIRS Collective have been making queer grind for a while and a lot of it, but never until We're Still Here did it feel like we're finally getting a cohesive album from them.

Too inconsistent in the end. Some tracks are good, some are great, some are bad, some are terrible. Some of the bigger name featured tracks are the worst on the album.

The last three tracks are the best IMO. Especially "Unicorn".

I would agree that its biggest failing is its inconsistency; at its worst, it's still pretty passable noise/grind/punk, but there are outstanding moments that show potential for a great album all the way through. "Unicorn Tapestry Woven In Fire," "Judgement Night," "Trust The Process," and "XOXOXOXOXOX" are my favorites; I love how they manage to make Melt-Banana feel not too far out of place on an album like this while also having one track in the middle of the album that's kind of silly.

On the whole I enjoy the wide breadth of sounds covered in a similar context throughout. It has a good grind sound underpinning the whole thing and the experimentation is what makes it interesting; it's just one of those cases where I want a full album of the standouts and I'd prefer to ignore the filler.
