If you suffer of some epileptic syndromes, please go away right now! Haha, well more seriously, "The Delphic Doctrine" is so violent and the rhythms and beats are so fast and heavy that it can be potentially "dangerous" for a basic person? But damn this is so good that it's impossible, if you're a bit open minded, to dislike this release. We're just in front of something great, don't miss it!
Tristwood is extremely violent but this is not one new band that plays Grindcore or such brutal music. Actually they use to play a good mix of Death/Black (Black, especially for the ambiances) Metal with industrial music. The recipe is simple, play a really heavy Death Metal with some excellent dark ambiances, remove the Drums and add some "powerful blasting" electronic beats and you can understand how it sounds. Though, the guys of Tristwood were really good during the writing process of the album, because they know how to do brutal music but they didn't forget to add a lot of amazing catchy guitars riffs. At the end "The Delphic Doctrine" is maybe violent and I can understand that some people will probably be bored by this music in reason of its violence, but be sure that all the songs have something hypnotic and really it's a real pleasure for me to listen to it again and again.
If you add that the artwork, like the recording are really good, if you add that the musicians, especially the singer, with his powerful Death vocal, are just great, and if I say that you a have a ton of potential hits on this release like "The Delphic Doctrine" with its amazing riffs, or "The Call Of Seth - Invocation Of The God Of Blood And War" with its catchy melody, you can be sure that we're in front of an excellent album that just deserve to by in your discography.
"The Delphic Doctrine" is an excellent surprise, ok the music of Tristwood can sound a bit basic and repetitive sometime, but this is just the style that wants it. Not really Death, not really Indus this is the perfect mix that will probably introduce a lot of people to these two different music. Congratulation to Tristwood for their original music and hail the guys of Sound Riot who has the balls to sign this them. Highly recommended if you want to be blasted?
