"Close to the sea, looking for water. I was searching for salt, but that isn't what I've found."

Looking at the album artwork, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this Argentinian debut. It's not often that you see a metal album associated with a girl floating on a rainbow prominently. As irrelevant as it may seem, it's a good starting point for my overall perception. After the first spin, I was also not entirely sure what I had just listened to. It kicked off with the fairly straightforward chugging alternative metal riffs, pounding drums, grungy vocals and roars, but then it gets magically delicious. The multitude of influences become apparent as the stylistic choices surface, all adding a bit of flavor to the pieces. I was reminded of Between The Buried And Me, Alice In Chains, Pantera, Cynic, Atheist, Tool, Primus, even Maudlin Of The Well at times, just to give a relative idea of the overall sound. The album cannot be pinned to any specific genre, but the majority of songs are heavier and guitar-driven. Fleshing out the works are some more mellow pieces featuring psychedelic atmospheres and orchestral scenes. I noticed recurring thematic elements that tie the whole album together, leaving me satisfied with the overall cohesiveness.

The instrumental performances here are stellar considering this is a debut, with a decent enough production to showcase all their skill in pulling off the more technical parts. I wasn't too keen on the vocals at first listen, but they are very unique and some of the missed accentuations are memorable for their novelty. The song structures are well-developed and these guys show prowess beyond their recognition. Like I said before, the flow of the album is impressive considering the amount of styles they are packing into each song. For originality the whole package is distinctive, perhaps even a landmark in their genre that doesn't exist yet. A few parts are a bit too reminiscent of existing works, specifically the middle of "Qualm" sounding lifted from Tool, but I'm really looking for salt at this point. I don't know who to specifically recommend this to, but chances are good if you like Between The Buried And Me (although I'm not a huge fan) then you will like this. This is a band to really watch out for and I am placing my bets on their future works to really shine. Add a bit of color to your day and taste the rainbow with Todo.s Los Colores Del!

This is a very good review, and I will definitely check this album out after I finish listening to BTBAM's latest EP (what a coincidence!).

Great review and I agree completely about the vocals, nothing like what I normally enjoy listening to but they do seem to work in this context. These guys are very unique and really know how to put an album together, there is some fantastic talent in this debut.

I didn't know this band at all, but I will definitely be checking them out after this review. The cover is peculiar alright! But it sparked my curiosity.

Congrats, Pippin, on a great review

Wow, good you made them a review!. I was going to do so soon but laziness was fighting back

I'm Argentinian and I can assure this band is among the bests (if not the best) we have to offer.
A very unique sound not just nationally, but also internationally speaking.

This album is a solid 9 for me, make sure you guys check their first EP also!

The cover looks like a reverse take on Todtgelichter's Angst from last year...

Absolutely useless remark aside, I'm going to check that out too.

The band name is very suitable. I don't know what I think of the album yet. It is quite interesting and groovy with some memorable moments, but I have not given it enough time yet. I am not quite sure I like the alternative vocals and the overall combination of elements.

P.S. Last track is very stonerish reminding of Baroness, so that's +1 to all the bands you thought of when listening to this one
