Cuatro Gatos means "Four Cats:" Strange for a 5 piece band! In fact, the founders of the band just took the name of the last album from their former band, "Ñu" ("Gnu" in English).

Just by looking at the artwork, you know that this second album is going to be a meticulous and perfectly finished piece of music. Junami Rodríguez had a global vision of what the whole thing should be, resulting in a pleasant heavy/power/prog metal album close to AOR.

The instrumental opening track is just excellent, introducing "Siembra Viento?" a track that shows the AOR side of their music I wrote about earlier. The songs are made of lively verses and choruses, with a constantly bouncy bass and some heavier passages. There isn't one bad song on this album, but there are too many songs in my opinion. At the end, I don't know which ones to stick with and I sometimes get the impression of "I've heard it in the song before, haven't I?" Luckily, other instrumentals are perfectly placed in the album. A.M.A.M.A is a drum solo, not very fast and impressive but very melodious. 71.12 is bass-based track, refreshing. The last track is a cover of "Heart Of The Moment" by Asia, adapted into Spanish by Txus (Mägo De Oz). It totally fits the album.

If you're searching for something that is just good music, that doesn't aim at being violent, or as technical as possible, if you just want to please yourself by playing a CD in your player, then try this "Esférica" out. You won't hear a heavy metal and, neither a power metal band nor a progressive metal band, but something like a very talented "soft metal" band.

Oh ok, I'll try to pick one track out: "Esférica." This track sums up the whole album very well.
